We very much enjoyed the stay. The lodge itself was lovely. The living area was very comfy and clean.
You can't hear the nearby A1 or any traffic. The park itself was quiet. The running fox nearby is worth a short drive for some afternoon tea. Also Edlingham castle ruins and surrounding areas are pretty.
HOT TUB: The hot tub was nice and we used it both nights. Fence around the hot tub was great for privacy. The gap in the fencing makes the hot tub a little too open. Maybe something could help make it more private. I think it probably needs some attention. There was dirt or grit in the bottom / on the seats. For this reason I am not sure how often it is completely emptied and cleaned. I am no hot tub expert and no idea about this but it just seemed a little older or less well kept than other hot tubs I have used. We were still able to use it, it worked ok and it was the reason we chose the lodge.
WIFI - We paid for the WiFi as we wanted to be able to call our families and kids while we were away and knew the phone signal would probably be lacking. The WiFi shouldn't be chargeable as it's not very good. Just add the cost in with the lodge cost rather than making it an extra chargeable add on, since its a bit hit and miss. Makes it feel like you're paying for something that is just a bit rubbish to be honest.
KITCHEN: Kitchen was well equipped and everything worked. I'm not sure things are washed or checked after previous guests by cleaners. We were asked to wash and dry all dishes prior to leaving, which we did. But when we arrived the mugs weren't well cleaned. Probably down to the previous people staying in the lodge and no checks on this kind of thing. We washed everything again before use. Something to watch out for if you are staying. There are no trays to use in the oven. We looked everywhere. Either trays and / or foil would have been handy for oven food to cook on. Other than that the kitchen was well equipped.
The location is perfect…….totally private and quiet.
The location is perfect…….totally private and quiet. Very clean room
The bar area is very small and the drawing room is small……however if you’re looking for a private venue for your wedding ( so you take over the whole place) then this is perfect!

Eshott Hall is a beautiful, relaxing blend of genuine old and modern. The food was excellent, top-notch, and always so very well presented. All the above was brilliant but the icing was the high quality of staff.
Nothing at all to grumble or complain about.

The house was beautiful, spacious and clean, the grounds pleasant to walk round and all very dog friendly. The breakfast had a good selection of full English or Continental and all very well cooked.
We ate our evening meal at the Old Boat house in Amble which I highly recommend.
Eshott is easy enough to find and is a very picturesque little village.

Beautiful location in an old hall.
Beautiful location in an old hall. Our Sea-Biscuit Room was excellent with a huge bathroom with shower enclosure. A spa bath would have been an added luxury but you cant have everything, similarly the room would have benefited from a king sized, even a super king size bed and there would have still been loads of room.
Breakfast choice and quality was excellent - we did not eat in the hotel at night so am unable to make a comment but if the food was as good as it was at breakfast then I am sure it will be excellent.
Selection of wines and bottled beers available at usual prices for hotel of this quality.
No spa or gym on site but I believe the RPG's sister hotel at Doxford has these facilities so may try that next year.
As the hotel is closing at the end of October this info might be superfluous. The hotel was in a lovely location and the rooms were very comfortable. We enjoyed sitting in the lounge chatting over a drink in the evenings. Staff were very polite and helpful, especially when being asked for extra hangers and a fan, as no air conditioning , as well as another light bulb. Breakfast was delicious with a good selection of dishes.
We loved our room which had a view over the walled garden. Unfortunately up a flight of stairs, but we coped. Our first night's dinner was good but on the subsequent nights, dinner was served in a rather bleak hall which was not as cozy. Perfect location for exploring nearby attractions such as Bamburgh Castle, the puffins and Holy Isle. No parking issues and easy access to our rooms.
The house itself was beautiful, and our room (Versailles) huge and well decorated. The staff were extremely helpful and accommodating. Unfortunately the restaurant was out of action for the night of our visit, but the provision of a free taxi service to a local gastro pub was a thoughtful touch that made up for some of our disappointment at missing dining at the hotel.
A large country house in the countryside, near the A1. Rooms are large (with very high ceilings) and beds are comfortable. The staff are friendly and helpful. Plentiful parking is available by the side of the hotel, and you can walk around the grounds. The evening restaurant serves a good dinner, with good food and excellent service.
Beautiful surroundings, conveniently located just off the A1 and ideally situated to explore Northumberland. The staff were very welcoming and friendly and the hotel itself is lovely. Our room was large with a four poster bed which was very comfortably. Food was excellent, although some items were on the expensive side.
Eshott Hall is a beautiful, old style hotel. I visited in a quiet time and was thrilled to get a free upgrade - with a bath in the huge room. Lovely old furniture, spacious rooms. Staff exceptionally helpful and friendly. And an enormous Craster kipper for breakfast. Wished I'd booked more than one night!
Impressive old building with a sweeping staircase and luxurious lounge areas. We had a spacious comfortable room. The hotel sits in lovely peaceful grounds and is easy to reach from the A1 and Northumberland coast. The room was great value, breakfast was very good and the staff were friendly.
The hotel is great with grounds that go on for ever. The staff were very good but, at times, inundated with requests for additional help. The room we had was large with a very big bathroom.
