What a fantastic hotel the red lion is.
From arriving early and visiting the excellent staff on reception to checking in later in the day our stay was brilliant.
We stayed in one of the rooms under the sail loft and it exceeded out expectations, it was fantastic with a gorgeous cosy bed that we both slept like logs on!
We dined in the snug bar and the food was delicious, breakfast the next morning was also delicious with lovely views over the harbour.
Clovelly itself is a beautiful village with plenty of things to see and do.
Top tip: get the land rover (free if staying at the red lion) to the top of the village and enjoy a nice walk back down.

Super tranquil spot, nestled in the Devon countryside. Beautifully designed little hut, super cosy, fantastic log burner. Hosts are so lovely and helpful, with fantastic communication! Really enjoyed our stay here.

Absolutely gorgeous property, so peaceful and wish we’d booked to stay for longer. The owners have thought of everything 😊 chocolates on the pillows, bread and milk in the fridge and cake and Prosecco.
