Cosy Country Retreat in the Brecon Beacons, hotel in Crickhowell

A recently renovated apartment set in Crickhowell, Cosy Country Retreat in the Brecon Beacons features a garden. The air-conditioned accommodation is 22 km from Longtown Castle.

A really wonderful short stay in fab proximity to Crickhowell and Abergavenny. It is very much a 'studio' style accommodation with a small kitchenette in the upstairs bedroom and a downstairs toilet and shower, but it has been made up to an absolutely excellent standard. It is not on the cheaper end of the market for the space, however everything in the room was pristine and really quite luxury - the bed and pillows were incredibly comfortable, kitchen equipment fantastic given the size (appreciated the sharp knives) and the TV and Chrome cast very easy to easy to use. We would absolutely return for a cosy weekend and despite the size it's definitely worth the cost in my opinion!

it's one of my favourite places in the world! Lovely little town, good parking facilities, great food available wonderful views and plenty to see all around. Love the river Usk and its surrounding area. At least 2 great art galleries. Felin fach Griffin, near Brecon, has great food, so does the restaurant by the cathedral in brecon. manor Hotel in crickhowel has very good food but very slow service!

The room was clean, the whole building very tired & worn , needs a lot of money spent on it ! Naomi was a very helpful lady she offered us a lift to the local pub which was very kind of her , very friendly & helpful ! Unfortunately the lady on the reception desk when we arrived was not so pleasant, kept talking over me which is found very frustrating.

Lovely small, vibrant town with a good atmosphere, plenty of places to eat and drink and small independent shops. Nice local history too with the Crickhowell Bridge and the ruins of the castle in town as well as being surrounded by beautiful countryside.

Breakfast was great. Room was great. But best thing about the hotel was the staff. One young lady in particular was incredibly helpful. We arrived a day early with bikes and couldn't stay, but they looked after our bikes for us, and refreshed one of our party so that he no longer needed an air ambulance. When we arrived back the next night to stay properly they were again just so helpful, did anything for us without question. Location is stunning. Crickhowell lovely and so much to see and do. One of my favourite spots in UK.

Kestrel Inn is well-sited and overlooks the scenic Cwmdu valley. The Inn and its rooms are clean, warm and comfortable, and the owners are welcoming with much-needed advice on places to visit and things to do. Breakfast was cooked by the owners, which we appreciated greatly, and dinners were found in the historic village of Crickhowell, which is only a 6 minute drive away. The Inn is well-placed to explore Brecon Beacons National Park by car or bicycle, with quiet country lanes starting literally over the road.

This cottage was the perfect getaway we needed. The cottage had everything we needed and more. Great distance to all the places we wanted to explore in Wales, nowhere seemed too far away, Cardiff, Beacons and so much more. The perfect base for exploring and after a long day out, Crickhowell had the most wonderful choice of pubs on your doorstep. Not that I wanted too but had to spend one morning working. Had the perfect set up in the dining room with Wi-Fi.

Location of the hotel is stunning, the views are unforgettable ans the panoramic windows in our room allowed us to enjoy this view any time of the day. And its surrounded by lovely nature, we even saw a baby deer at the car park so be careful when you return back late - you can meet deer near hotel and other wild life animals and birds.

What a gem of a place, suitable for all our needs. Secure garage underneath to keep our bikes. Lovely walks nearby, we climbed up to Table Mountain. The town has some lovely pubs, I can recommend “The Bear” for food as well. The people were welcoming and the accommodation warm and clean.
