Woolpack Inn, hotel in Chichester

Located in Fishbourne, the Woolpack Inn provides the perfect base from which to explore the South Downs and Chichester Harbour, just a 10-minute walk from Fishbourne Rail Station.

The first thing you notice is there is a big car park with lots of spaces to park for free which is a major plus staying in Chichester as most of the hotels either don’t have parking onsite or you have to pay for it. I arrived to a warm welcome and had a little chat about my day etc, the hotel room was very nice, nice amenities, good selection of coffee and tea, lots of towels, and smelt fresh and clean. The bar serves a wide range of drinks and nibbles, and the food looked amazing. They had an acoustic open mic night which was very good. Would highly recommend.

Absolutely fabulous place. Lot's to see and do.

Absolutely fabulous place. Lot's to see and do. The cathederal is wonderful as is the canal boat trip. If you like food then there's lots of restaurants here. We visited 4 and they were all good especially Purchases on North Street which was exceptional. There is also a lovely walk around the city on the historical city wall pathway.

We only had a very short trip and could have stayed much longer and done so much more, we thoroughly enjoyed what we did do though. The Bishops Palace garden is beautiful and well worth a visit, we also enjoyed Fishbourne Roman Palace, which is really interesting and has some beautiful gardens and mosaics. Sadly it rained a lot and we couldn't do some of the things we had planned, maybe next time. We visited Tinwood vineyard on our way home and had a delicious lunch and bought some lovely sparkling wine to take home.

    Where do I start!

Where do I start! The room was beautiful and excellent value for money. The views and location truly amazing! I have stayed here before but only seem to be able to manage night at a time as I am always travelling. Would love to spend a week here! If you have the time and it is running take the boat and go seal watching! Not too far from the room is Chichester a really interesting place to visit, greta history, good shopping, delicious restaurants

Comprehensive shopping and eateries - we found the people really lovely, chatty and happy to help. So much history, lots to see. You must visit Luckes - independent, fabulous food, lovely staff. The Real Eating company - really good coffee, lovely staff. Our first experience was a bit unfortunate but the manager and staff were quick to respond and rectify that - highly recommend them - they have two venues in Chichester.

Our first visit to Chichester, to meet up with relatives who live locally, we had limited time to explore the town. We wandered around, walked on the old city walls, visited an interesting museum with a temporary display of Star Wars toys and of course visited the Cathedral. Chichester has largely retained the old type of 'proper' town centre with individual local shops in addition to the larger chains which makes it more interesting to walk around.

The city centre is very compact with the main shopping areas, bars and restaurants close to the cathedral and within the city walls. Would recommend the 2.2 mile walk around the old city walls from where you can stop off and enjoy Priory Park and The Bishops Garden. Pleanty of cafes, pubs, bars and restaurants to choose from. Would recommend The Barn in Little London which is great for coffee and delicious pastries and the food and cocktails at Purchases were fantastic. Lemongrass Thai restaurant in St Pancras was also very good. An informative and enjoyable guided walk can be booked from the Novium Museum.

Everything was right for a medium price hotel; no frills but clean, efficient and pleasant, with a solid breakfast. The rooms are in an annex set back from the main road; traffic audible but not intrusive. There is a nice garden to sit out in at the back of the main pub. Location convenient for the Roman Villa, the creek-side walk to Dell Quay, and with a bit more effort into Chichester. Staff were helpful in advising on these.

This hotel is run by two lovely people, Iris and George. The breakfast was delicious and personally cooked by the owners. Everything was of a very high quality and Iris and George were really friendly and welcoming and recommended good restaurants to eat nearby. The hotel is centrally located and we walked to the theatre to see South Pacific in under 15 minutes. We will definitely go back to this hotel.

The hotel is in a great location close to Chichester and very easy to find. Rooms were spacious and well appointed. The breakfast was very tasty, busy service but staff were very efficient. The evening meal was extremely good and it was a pleasant surprise to try some new dishes. I had a couple of queries with reception and the receptionist was very efficient at resolving matters.

The room was great. Big, clean and very comfortable. It had all we needed. The location was perfect and made it easy for us to walk into Chichester centre in the evening for dinner. We pre-ordered breakfast via the little note left in our room and breakfast was ready for us at 0800 as requested. Breakfast was very good and our selections were acted upon.

We loved the comfort of the bed, amazing fully stocked kitchen, abundance of outside space, peaceful and lovely touches like fresh flowers. Everything was spotless and felt so clean and fresh. The owner messaged us prior to make sure we found the property and we had direct contact if we needed it. We will be back in November when next in Chichester

Bedroom (Room 1) was comfortable and spacious. The staff were all warm, welcoming and friendly. This was my second time staying at the Chichester Inn. The location is great due its short walk into the town centre and its direct access into Bishops Palace Gardens behind their car park.

This home was really lovely and we felt at home straight away. There were lots of little touches so that you didn't have to have brought everything from home. It was only a ten minute walk into the town centre which was ideal for shopping and eating out. e would definitely book again.
