Birnam Hotel, hotel in Caputh

Historic Birnam Hotel is set in Perthshire countryside between Dunkeld and Birnham Golf Club and the River Tay. It offers cosy non-smoking rooms, a restaurant and an inn in the grounds.

Really beautiful building, the room was lovely with an arm chair aswell as excellent beds plus the usual facilities of tea and coffee iron hair drier etc. The staff could not have been more helpful and the breakfast was extremely good and generous at a reasonable cost. Plenty of car parking spaces and easily walkable to the centre of Dunkeld. The local art centre is opposite which has excellent coffee and cakes etc which is useful as the Hotel itself currently only offers breakfast and the Inn next door which has the dinner service does not open till noon.

You won't get a better BnB than this anywhere!! We have stayed at hundreds over a period of 30 years and Tayburn House is the BEST. The host was super pleasant and helpful and the breakfast was amazing - great variety and everything cooked to perfection.

Meikleour Arms Hotel & Restaurant, hotel in Caputh

Set in the rural region of Perthshire, the Meikleour Arms is located at the heart of the conservation village of Meikleour, well known for its impressive trees and salmon fishing.

We were self catering in one of the coach houses a very short drive from the pub. The accommodation had been beautifully renovated and very spacious. The bathroom was huge and luxurious. A wood burner was set ready to burn, but the heating was so good we didn't need it. The dishes and cutlery was provided in a separate box indicating it had been sterilized from the last use which was really reassuring. The accommodation had direct access to a lovely garden and private parking. Would definitely return given the chance.

Caputh is a very small place 15mins away from Murthly Castle. I dont think I can give much review about Caputh apart from it was a really nice quiet area. I spent most of my time in Murhtly castle due to work, however Murthly and Caputh locals are very nice. I was given a free Donut by a lady from Murthly shop Nisa Local by this lovely lady Margaret. I would definitely go back one day as I have made travel plans for Dunkeld already and I will probably pass Caputh and Murthly again. My review might not be helpful in a sense, but to each of their own, they must explore the place and have their own experience. For me, I enjoyed my time.
