The staff went above and beyond to cater for the 2 Vegans in our party. They produced an excellent 3 course menu for the at Dinner and had plant based food for their breakfasts. This property is absolutely exceptional. It is tastefully decorated throughout with beautiful finishing touches- I particularly loved the gorgeous hardback books. The linens are of great quality, as are the toiletries (a variety of Molton Brown). The kitchen has everything that you could need. We loved having our morning coffee with the stable door open, the radio on and the sunshine streaming in. As with the rest of the house, everything is really high quality, with a coffee machine, Nespresso pods, and a great breakfast hamper provided. The homemade cupcakes were also a lovely touch.
Travelling with a 9 month old, it can be hard to find places that feel safe and where you don’t have to pack your whole house. This cottage is perfect for anyone travelling with a family. We were provided with a travel cot (which Elley communicated about in advance to check which bedroom we’d like it in), a high chair, baby cutlery, toys, children’s books and (probably most importantly) safety gates.
The outside space is gorgeous. We had a lovely al fresco dinner looking over the castle.
Location is spot on. It took us just under 25 minutes to get to both York and Helmsley, and just over an hour to reach the coast. Sheriff Hutton is really peaceful and the pub is only a short walk and does a great range of food.
