Loved the surrounding area (with the alpacas). The room & bed were both super comfortable to stay in. Really enjoyed all the little touches in the decor and the services provided (cake in the afternoon, breakfast was amazing, great recommendations of nearby restaurant, the mini bar had tons of options). Staff very friendly and welcoming. Very close to the deepest lake in England - would definitely come back and stay here!
Right on the seafront in St Bees on the West Cumbrian Coast, Seacote Hotel features stunning sea views and a garden, just 6 miles from the Lake District National Park.

It's a lovely little gem hidden away right next to the beach, the beach is so clean and quiet. My second trip here and will definitely be back.
Offering a restaurant, The Kellbank is located in Gosforth. Free WiFi access is available throughout the property. Featuring a bath or shower, the private bathroom also comes with a hairdryer.

Breakfast enjoyable, nicely cooked hot food plus all the usual cereals, yoghurts etc, service quick and efficient. Evening Sunday roast was delicious too.
I have already left my review. Booking.com have not been helpful at all and have ignored my request for a refund. I wont be using Booking.com ever again. I am an amputee and wheelchair bound. neither Booking.com or the Pub understand disability. The room /toilet were not accessible rooms. No food available at all. Room was dimly lit, bulbs not working in some areas of the accommodation and the room.Altogether, Royal Oak and Booking.com have been extremely poor.

Jo and her husband were great hosts and very communicative and friendly even prior to our stay. They were just the most responsive and attentive ones during our stay as well!
The location was less than an hour away from the trail we wanted to do (Newlands Horseshoe in the Lake District), the beach was a pleasant 30 min walk away and there was a lovely pub just 5 min from the B&B (with delicious food and a top notch service)... we couldn't have asked for a better setup!
The room itself was beautiful and modern as well as sparkling clean with everything you could need from plenty of towels to biscuits and tea, and even a parking pass display. The bed was the comfiest too!
We wouldn't hesitate to recommend Hopesdale House and would glady come back here again!

I’d recommend eating at the Royal Oak, we thought we’d find somewhere nice on the coast, but there was nothing. We are at a nearby village, but the food wasn’t good . I’m sure the Royal Oak food would have been a lot better. The whole area is very quiet and shabby, nothing like the lake areas.

Lovely friendly people and a great location for exploring that side of the Lake District.
The Royal Oak Hotel was a great little dog friendly spot to return to on the evenings to relax and for food.

Great base to explore the western lakes and enjoy the coast.
Great base to explore the western lakes and enjoy the coast. Very well equipped and comfortable property with a fantastic upstairs bed room. The garden is also fabulous. Sadly we were only there for 4 nights, we could have stayed much longer. The White Mare is a great place to eat out and the pizza place at Gosforth is well worth a visit. We particularly enjoyed Seascale and St Bees for coastal/beach walks and the Buttermere area for lake walks.

We ate dinner and breakfast at The White Mare which was lovely. The wine was very enjoyable and so was the atmosphere. The Staff were very kind and helpful. Beckermet is a quaint village, the people are extremely friendly. We will definitely go back when we're in the Lake District again.
