Just spent an absolutely amazing night at Cindy's b&b , what an incredible house & such a friendly couple nothing was too much trouble for Cindy, upon arrival at our pre arranged check-in time we were greeted by Cindy & her husband & was shown to our room & immediately invited down to the guest lounge & served complimentary tea & buetifull cake & was made to feel so welcome ,the room & en-suite bathroom was immaculately clean & the bed so comfortable, breakfast the following morning was sensational with everything you could ever wish for from a full English, everything was of such good quality produce , followed by a lovely walk around Cindy buetifully manicured garden & the paddocks around the house , will most definitely be returning, Cindy thank you so much for a lovely stay , the best b&b I've ever stayed in .

I liked the area, away from noises etc. Efficient service. Clean bedding.

Breakfast and choice was great. Location spot on central for a great shopping experience. Any one travelling by train is on the doorstep not that you hear any trains. All in all a great hotel and staff so friendly.
Would definitely stay again.
Hotel Cromwell Stevenage was once a farm house and home to John Thurloe, secretary to Oliver Cromwell. The property is close to the A1(M) and just 10 minutes’ drive from Knebworth Park.

From the friendly greeting on arrival, clean n fresh room, windows that open, and a good nights sleep to the breakfast before we left, everything was better than we expected, the only tiny inconvenience was layout of breakfast bar, would appreciate a slightly wider service area, the reason being once lids are off hot pots there’s no room to place your plates, makes it a bit tricky especially with children or if you have dexterity issues, but this did not spoil our lovely stay. The staff in all areas are really helpful and approachable. The gardens are beautiful too, and everywhere was spotless. Would definitely stay again and have recommended to friends and family already.

Loved the stay in general. Everything a pretty high quality
The rooms need updating
Tv not watchable
Needs a tray under the kettle and cups
Not enough power points. Ie could do with socket beside bed with usb socket
And would probably need air con in future
It’s ok for overnight but for price would expect more,
The little restaurant in same car park called Cottys.good food, but understaffed
Great parking facilities which was why I booked it…5 minuets drive up the rd is good complex .with McDonald’s and KFC…

Makes an excellent base for exploring round about Cambridgeshire, Hertfordshire and Bedfordshire. There are excellent aircraft museums within easy reach, but those weekends with air displays can lead to congestion on the access roads near Duxford.

My daughter and I stayed for 1 night in this lovely B&B, host very welcoming, despite us arriving late in the day, we stayed in a cosy twin room, with fantastic garden view, no en-suite but private bathroom opposite our room, didn’t find this to be a problem.
Breakfast was very good,( and gluten free provided )cooked to order, we ate way too much!
It was a pity we could only stay for 1 night, but hopefully can stay again in the future.
Struggling to find anything we didn’t like.
Thank you

The hotel is not in a neighbourhood.
The hotel is not in a neighbourhood. It's an isolated stop right on the A1 next to a nice resturant. Useful for travelling and near several market towns in North Herts, all of which are pleasant with lots of restaurants cafes and shops.

Had a few problems before my visit, but was put right by june- Thank you. The bathroom absolutely stank of stale cigarette smoke. I would have said this was a smoking room! The toilet refused to flush. Brought these to the attention of June. Slept well, just shame about the bathroom. Plenty of places to eat around the hotel. Good for a one night stop.

We thought the room provided was very good value for money for the price we paid. The decor was a little tired/dated but the room was very, very clean and tidy.
The shower enclosure was spacious and the water jets powerful. The bed was a little soft and the tv quite small but the staff were very friendly and helpful.
Cindy is an exceptional host and we were immediately made to feel very welcome. The house is in a pleasant and quiet rural location close to small and characterful villages but with ready access to the A1 and with the small town of Baldock 10 minutes drive away. The rooms are spacious, nicely furnished and spotlessly clean. Breakfast is excellent: beautifully presented and cooked and very substantial and served in a light and airy room. Secure and easy car parking by the house. We will definitely visit again.
I stay here a lot for work. Sometimes one night, sometimes more. For me the location is excellent (right on the A1!) and Letchworth seems to have an ongoing issues with available hotels. Unless you're an 'Eat in a restaurant every night' kind of person, then - being a major services - there's everything you need food-wise and some shopping as well. Petrol station and car-wash right there...what more do you need. Oh yeah, and FREE parking. Suck that Travelodge :)
The member of staff was very friendly on check in,
Beds are very comfortable.
Large rooms and seems spotless
Plenty of hot water for showers.
Plenty of car parking spots and seemed to be slightly wider than most, very good when you drive vans and pickup trucks
Although not park of the hotel there is a restaurant the other side of the Carpark. Lovely normal food there. None of this fancy stuff but very good quality
Location was suitable for us. Just off the motorway. We had a late arrival and very early start the following morning..
The bed was comfortable.
The staff were friendly.
Whilst there are no tea and coffee making facilities, the reception provided us with a drink. And there was a service station next door.
As a motorway side hotel it was adequate for our needs.
I stay here once per week for work and the hotel does the job perfectly, Comfortable bed, good shower, perfect location for shops etc. Jay the receptionist has become my new friend and is very happy, helpful and accommodating and makes the whole experience every week more pleasant than it normally would be.
Room was clean, easily accessible and suitable size. The facilities are adequate but not lavish, the showers are good.As always our ridiculously friendly dogs were made welcome. One of the pleasures of staying at this hotel is the invariably friendly and helpful staff.
The lodge/hotel is right on the motorway. For us it was a only one night stay, at the end of a 2 week trip. If you choose to stay here, do it with low expectations in your mind (about rooms and breakfast).
Location is good, right on the a1 with easy access to everything in the area, price for 1 night for a family of 5 was good, very similar to travelodge, the included breakfast was a mix of cereals and toast.
The bed was very unstable.
The toilets leaked.
very poor overall and furniture very old.
I must say the staff were very nice though, and the restaurant right next to the hotel was outstanding.
Hotel is pretty tired. Cracked sink, dated bathroom, ancient sofabed! Yes it was cheap but I'm guessing the Hotel chain has suffered over the past couple of years! Shame!
Nice quiet room on the ground floor at the back of hotel. Nice to have windows that open. Appreciated quiet outlook. Nice to see some nature and not a car park.
