It was far bigger than I was expecting.
It was far bigger than I was expecting. Very well serviced by local buses to surrounding towns and villages. We travelled everywhere by bus. Lots of places to eat in the evening. Local people always ready and willing to help with travel advice.

I liked the central location of the Highland hotel and the activities for the children. The Winking Owl Aviemore is by far the best place to eat. It has such a huge choice of dishes at reasonable prices and great choices for celiacs and vegans. The staff at the Winking owl are lovely and there is a great atmosphere.

The town situated within the Cairngorms National Park in the Highlands of Scotland. There are beautiful views of all the mountains, forests and lakes. Not far from the legendary Loch Ness, it's hard to spot a monster. Amazing fogs.

It was very snowy when I arrived on Christmas day and the town was quiet. Its a pleasant place and a great stop off point to explore the area. It has plenty of cafes and restaurants, as well as shops to keep folk happy. But its real beauty is in the welcome and the access to the surrounding areas.

We visited the Highland Wildlife Park and I would recommend a full day we were unable to see all we wanted to in half a day
the Strathspey railway was enjoyable
Aviemore has a range of shops
the journey to Cairngorm is worthwhile and there are many attractions on the Rothiemuchs Estate
Reindeer Centre is very good with a walk for those able to see the reindeer on the hillside.
Golf and Fishing also availiable
Great location and large family rooms. Breakfast was good. The main issue was that the pool and leisure facilities were unavailable due to technical issues . No one updated us before we left Glasgow to attend hotel. Manager advised that they were considering a discount but as yet nothing has been offered. We had grandson and picked this hotel specifically as it had good swimming pool so was very disappointed that it wasn't open. we had to drive to another hotel a distance away for a swim.
The location was nice and quiet😀. There was a path nearby, which lead up to Boat of Garten, which I walked😀
Kaz was helpful when I had a bit of difficulty getting into the lock box😀
I had everything I needed and the co-op was just a 2 minute walk😀. There was a bus stop nearby, but I chose to walk into Aviemore, which I didn't mind doing😀
Plenty of shops and eating places. Public transport easy to access😀. Will book again cor summer so I can go exploring longer.
Aviemore rooms can be a bit expensive so I picked this hotel as it was midrange. It was a great stay, only one night but it felt comfy, I had a lovely dinner so much so I couldn't eat breakfast! Staff were all lovely and would definitely recommend and stay again. In the heart of Aviemore so couldn't be better positioned for shops, the train station etc. Plenty of parking which is free. If you want a lovely Scottish hotel with home comforts book this one :-)
We were in the lodges this time and decor is very very tired. Big, clean lodge but just needs modernised (thread bare carpets isn’t appropriate for a £300 per night rate)!! Now been to Highlands & Aviemore hotels and still enjoy Aviemore as a location. Glad the swimming temperature is better in summer as very cold when we usually visit in January. Breakfast lovely and resort entertainment crew excellent, especially Rory!! What a hoot.
Small Country Hotel, great staff with very friendly relaxed attitude. Food was excellent. Pleasant strolling in fields behind with your pets as dogs and cats welcome. Only a couple of miles from Aviemore where there are plenty of activities. Not to mention skiing!
Altogether a very pleasant stay and would recommend to anyone
Hotel was beautiful, staff were very helpful approachable and friendly, couldn't fault the service, food was amazing rooms were very clean and stunning, stunning views from our room and we had our children with us which they were very accommodating for. Will definitely return here we had an amazing time!
The apartment is new, absolutely spotless, and very well equipped. It is also in an excellent location. Staff were lovely and very welcoming. I would definitely recommend High Range Lodge Hotel to anyone looking for lovely clean and comfortable accommodation in Aviemore.
We loved our hosts, so accommodating and helpful. The home-cooked breakfast was perfect. The shared kitchen facility had everything needed to host our own meals. The pod was laid out well and the bed was the most comfortable bed of all our hotel stays in Scotland (5).
The fifth time I've stayed here and it was as good as always. The lodges are well stocked with everything you'd need including shampoo and shower gel. It's an easy walk into Aviemore for food and supplies, and the restaurant attached does lovely takeaway food.
Hotel was lovely, right in the heart of Aviemore, firework display at the bells on New Year's night was absolutely brilliant, never seen a fire work display as good anywhere in my life, well worth it. Breakfast was awesome and views are 2nd to none.
Great location for outdoor recreation. We hiked to Ben Macnui and Loch Avon one day. Hotel was just up road from restaurants and other retail. Very friendly staff and flexible with our requests, even as they were fully booked.
great location to walk into Aviemore village in the evening. food was good and the staff were very helpful. Tesla chargers were in the hotel car park, which was great.
The suite we had was great for three. The bathrooms had high quality fittings. The hotel is well-situated for exploring the town. We really enjoyed our stay.
