Westward Ho Hotel, hotel in Alkham

Situated in Folkestone and with Folkestone Beach reachable within 600 metres, Westward Ho Hotel features express check-in and check-out, non-smoking rooms, a garden, free WiFi throughout the property...

Reception was eventually fine but there was noone present when we arrived. The hotel was tired and our potentially pleasant room needed redecoration.

Holiday Inn Dover, an IHG Hotel, hotel in Alkham

Set in peaceful landscaped gardens, Holiday Inn Dover is just 10 minutes from Dover’s bustling Ferry Port and famous White Cliffs. It has free parking, a gym, and a themed restaurant.

Basic hotel, but perfectly adequate and convenient for one night before catching an early ferry to France the next morning. The Bella Italia restaurant on site was rather nicer than expected. Overall, pretty good value for money.

Alkham is a quiet little village with only the pub, church and park. Perfect to get away when you need A break. The food is to die for! The drinks options are amazing and the staff now how to look after you. Dover and Folkestone are between 10-15 minutes away and easy access to everything. Hidden Jem!

A very pretty Church - a very busy main road with very fast traffic & it was late in the day so we didn’t venture very far! A few walks were visible from the road but walking bouts required on the day of our visit.

The staff very friendly , nice atmosphere in the pub, warm and cosy , nice open fires . Would have preferred home made fries with our meal rather than frozen as the rest of the meal was a very good standard . Toast in the morning ok but again packet bread rather than fresh un cut loaf, let it down for the standard of the pub .

The hotel/Inn was very comfortable and beautifully decorated. It had a very plush feel to it. We only had the breakfast as ate out with other members of the family. The breakfast was of good quality and offered a decent range although I should have liked porridge or granola. The coffee was a bit weak but then I like it strong. The staff were very friendly and were always on hand to help.

Decor was lovely, staff really friendly and service was quick. Room had lovely bath and shower, unusual layout which we loved as something different from usual bland hotel room. Location close to Folkestone but also easy to get to Canterbury, location in Alkham valley gave nice views to see from the bar and restaurant.

Staff super friendly, room was an unexpected delight and very comfortable. We tend to always stay at the more corporate hotels near the tunnel but this stay has made us rethink and would certainly stay here in preference in future. Breakfast was also delicious and we took advantage of the lovely bar the night before:)

The views are very fine from the hotel, and the nearby narrow street and church invite exploration. The hotel is comfortable enough, very clean and professionally managed.
