Gorgeous boutique hotel in a perfect location to enjoy Saumur. A delicious and beautifully presented breakfast with many organic and local produce options.
Regis was very helpful with parking the car, recommending restaurants and sorting any question we had. We loved Chateau d’Azay Le Roseau that he recommended.. the perfect size and just like a fairy tale. Thank you for a wonderful stay.. highly recommend. Car parking is limited so do reserve well in advance. It is not guaranteed.

Flore and Jeremy were exceptional hosts - very kind and friendly. Recommended wonderful local restaurants for us.
Great location close to centre of Saumur. Beautiful large room in ornately decorated (original) style and throughout the Chateau. Certainly our preferred location if/when we return to the Loire Valley.

Saumur is an incredibly charming town on the banks of the Loire, with a beautiful historic castle set above the town. It's large enough that there are excellent services and plentiful restauants, but retains a small town feel. It's also within range of many great wineries and the great castles of the Loire, and it also has some interesting museums of its own.
We recommend Le Boeuf Noisette, Keating Steak, and L'cancuna for excellent meals.

Hotel is in a central location with free parking on on many nearby streets. There is chargeable parking at the hotel if you prefer. Although the hotel is right on the road and most rooms face onto the street it’s not too busy with traffic and windows are double glazed. Breakfast is really good value. The town has grand buildings and a lovely Chateau, all very picturesque. Plenty of restaurants.

A town that made tourists very welcome, and was very well set up for tourists. Easy to get to all the main attractions and eating areas. There was plenty of free parking opposite our hotel. The main restaurant area is in the square infront of the church , and both restaurants we ate in there were good.

Beautiful and interesting city.
Beautiful and interesting city. Wide range of shops and restaurants to suit every taste. Situated in lovely countyside and it's a mecca for wine lovers.
For briliant food, recommend Le Boeuf Noisette. For wines, visit Maison des Vins d'Anjou et de Saumur.
A drive around the local villages is also recommended.

Saumur is lovely, so many things to see and do.
Saumur is lovely, so many things to see and do.
However a car is mandatory and at least in the winter months everything is closed on Sunday.
We had a lot of ambitions to see stuff but only Saturday to do so. Which was an unwelcome surprise. Especially in a time when travel is so hard.
We came specifically for the tank museum (Musee des Blindes) which is unique for its collection.
The Chateau is magnificent.
Our other desires were thwarted by inability to move around combined with the Sunday closures.

Nice town with old center and very nice castle.
Nice town with old center and very nice castle. Rather exceptional tank museum is a must-see for everyone interested in similar topics. Good place for short trip, with more interesting places in surrounding area.
Beautiful historic building. The owner gave us a tour & history of the hotel over the years, so interesting. Our room had a wonderful view of the chateau and the gardens. The facilities are fabulous, clean & plenty of room to relax, you are encouraged to use all the lounges downstairs as well as explore its 2 acres. It was very hot when we arrived, the heated pool was a splendid way to cool down. La Marquise is perfectly situated to explore Saumur and the famous chateau. The team made us feel so welcome, I just wish we had longer here.
The hotel front desk woman was so welcoming and nice to us. We enjoyed breakfast in the hotel each morning before going out to explore Saumur. One morning, she became excited, but didn't have the English vocabulary to say what she was excited about. Instead, she motioned for us to come to the window in the kitchen area, where a hot air balloon was floating by. She just wanted to share it with us, and was so sweet to make sure we didn't miss it. We would most definitely stay here again. Highly recommend it!
Personal welcome. Airco was switched on in the room. Lots of information/documentation on what to do was available plus a personal explanation on options and possibilities in line with our interest. Advise on good restaurants in the area. Breakfast was top (eggs, fruit salad, several jams, fresh orange/apple juice, different cheese, .....). Area to park our electric bikes safely. It was just perfect for our stay and not too far from Saumur center.
This is a very nice hotel. Very basic, but for its price excellently suited. Breakfast is good, and I had a nice dinner there as well. The hotel is on the outskirts of Bagneux, with easy access to the motorway, which makes it ideal for those passing through. Getting to Saumur city centre is also very easy, just turn right off the hotel's street and it is a straight shot to Saumur and the river. As a tourist, you should have all the possibilities.
A very nice hotel and the location for visiting the Loire valley is perfect! The room was fine, clean and the bathroom also clean. I recommend the breakfastlbuffet, makes you ready for a nice day.
The man in the reception, Oliver I think his name is, was fantastic giving information about what to see and visit. A big help. He also helped us finding a restaurant.
The apartment is very spacious, luminous and comfortable. It is well equipped and furnished, it had everything we needed.
We went to Saumur by car and parking was easy, one block from the apartment and free.
The location is excellent, walking distance from the center and Saumur castle. Joelle, the host is charming.
Pleasantly surprised to find this quaint, beautifully decorated and looked after boutique hotel. Very central with a public parking 150m away. Fantastic breakfast with so many goodies including organic goodies that I cannot list. A real meal. Has a small bar with a large whisky collection.
Great for couples. Excellent value. Easy to explore St Hillaire St Floreint and even Saumur If more able (3/6 km)... VinoValley was lovely, s was Bouvet Ladubey...both within close distance.
The vintage bike race that happened to be occuring was a lovely bonus.
Good hostess...so lovely.
Beautiful, idyllic hotel, well situated near to the Chateau du Saumur and local bars and restaurants. Staff were extremely helpful. Continental breakfast served with croissants and lovely fresh bread. Rooms were large and the bed was so comfortable. Would definitely stay there again.
the Hotel is in a great location to explore Saumur , we had a view over the Chateau which was very nice, the pool facilities although small were also very good, the breakfast is one of the best we've had in France. We would certainly go back if we have the chance.
The hotel was very well situated, very close to the centre of Saumur, where there was an abundance of bars and restaurants. There was free on street parking. The receptionist was extremely friendly and helpful and gave us recommendations of where to dine.
Great location, easy to walk to all the wonderful things Saumur has to offer, castles, food and more. Awesome stop for cyclists as they have a wonderful locked storage area in the secure parking garage.
Helpful staff at check-in. Nice indoor pool. Great location for exploring the Loire Valley. It was easy to hire bikes from Saumur. It was great fun cycling and so we didn't use our car.
We had a very good time at the property with incredible breakfast. I would warmly recommend this hotel if you are visiting Loire valley. Saumur is a great historic city to visit!
A good hotel in a beautiful situation in Saumur.
Breakfast was good, the room was quiet and comfortable.
It's just such a pity there isn't a restaurant within the hotel.
