We researched many hotels in the area and this one was seemed to be the best for the value. Once we arrived we were very happy and satisfied. It's a simple place but very clean and comfortable with a nice continental breakfast. The best thing was the staff! So very nice and helpful with everything! I highly recommend this hotel! Very nice old town. It is really like a small Venice in Provence. Colorful streets and shops. Each house has a different shade of pastel colors. Boats in canal looked like from the paintings. Recommended for visit if you get close to Marseille.GoranSerbia - 10Scored 10

Martigues is a small, characteristic town embedded between the Mediterranean and a lake: Etang de Berre. A canal connecting the two is running through the town. There is a harbour with pleasure boats. Town is friendly and inviting for a city walk. There are stores and restaurants. The nearby coast is beautiful and there is a lot to see if you’re willing to drive 1-1,5h by car.

Very confusing getting around Martigues in the car.
Very confusing getting around Martigues in the car. Even in late October, we found the car parks full. It was very busy, probably due to start of half term & a lot of restaurants were closed because of covid. However, we found a take-away pizza place called Net Porter which was very good.
