This accommodation was well worth the premium price. Its is a very original place to visit and we truly enjoyed the experience. The interior is “chick” fitted with modern appliances is “new” shape and the bed was cozy, the TV great, a relaxing Jacuzzi and big bath tub. Not far from the caves are plenty of touristy things to see. Two nights was a perfect stay.

Doue is a place to visit with a plan in mind. We visited for Les Journees de la Rose. We visited the Zoo and le Mystere des Faluns. But we misjudged Sunday evening closure of the hotel restaurant. Which rather took the edge off the Sunday. We were lucky that Le 18 restaurant offered us an early table.

Doue is close to many attractions including Fontevraud which is a wonderful historic Abbey and well worth visiting. Also Montsoreau is right on the Loire and extremely attractive with a large Chateau which sits next to the banks of the Loire. There are numerous restaurants and bars and some nice shops there. Other chateaux are all within easy reach of Doue and the roads leading from the town are excellent and well signposted.

Used this hotel as a 1 night stop over and found it perfectly fine. Buffet breakfast was great and the owners were very friendly. The restaurant was closed but that was ok considering it was out of season, there was a very interesting restaurant very close. A very old fashioned friendly hotel. Would stay again as a stop over.
Location great, room was very clean, breakfast was good, staff friendly good all round, shame that the hotel is booked when I am working again in the area at the end of April, would have liked to stay again but have to find alternative accommodation now..
Charming house, and gardens to explore, clean and spacious family room. Friendly and welcoming hosts who gave us a tour of the caves under the hotel. Also had a meal in local restaurant Le Caveau - well worth a visit.
The hotel is well located and the town is easily accessed on foot. The rooms were well maintained and comfortable. The lady at front of house was very accommodating to our group and ensured we were well looked after.
Room was clean with a good aircon unit. The staff were very hospitable. Breakfast was nice and the hotel was reasonably priced. The hotel was located in the town so it was very easy to walk around.
We received a warm friendly reception from the hotel staff.
Food in the restaurant was delicious.
Madame on reception couldn't have been more friendly.
We will plan to stay here again.
We stay at this hotel twice yearly every year. It is professionally run with an exceptional restaurant. The access to the garden
from our room is very useful as we have a dog
