Sleeping Portomarin 2 was very comfortable, and a great place to rest on the Camino. It is very close to the Camino path, so not too much extra walking. Additionally, the hostess had included snacks, waters, coffee, and other goodies. It also has a washer and lines outside to dry. It even has a massage chair, which is great for a weary Pilgrim!!! Portomarin was also one of the prettiest stops on the Camino, so it was wonderful to stay in that town.

Portomarin is right on the water, and on the Camino.
Portomarin is right on the water, and on the Camino. It is a beautiful town with plenty of restaurants and shops; very cute, a beautiful cathedral in the piazza, and very friendly people! It was one of the most scenic towns on the Camino.

There's a very interesting story about the current Portomarin that would make a visitor want to go around and see the city, it's historical landmarks and surrounding areas.

A small town on the Camino de Santiago - and anyone who’s walked The Way will know what that implies. Much of the economy of places like this, especially in catering and accommodation, is geared to servicing Camino pilgrims. Consequently there are albergues and pilgrim menus (pilgrim menu norm seems to be around €14 at present, still fair value) aplenty but by 10 p.m., and outside the Camino “walking season”, lots of places are closed. So, not perhaps the ideal place for nightclubbers. Having said that we enjoyed our stay, it’s a pretty place with great views but not a great deal of history on show - the original village having been swallowed up by the creation of a dam lake. The church was rescued and moved up the hill to its present location in the town centre brick by brick. It’s interesting to be able to just see the numbers painted on the masonry that ensured every block went in the right place. One heck of a jigsaw!

Portomarin is a very beautiful tiny little town right on the Camino de Santiago. It has a few beautiful churches and the town itself is on the banks of a river which makes it very picturesque. It is quiet and small, except for the pilgrims and that makes it very quaint.

Friendly staff provided excellent communication.
Friendly staff provided excellent communication. Could speak perfect English, which is rare in the in this area. Facilities, while basic, was perfect and spotless. Had the best nights sleep in a long time. Bed was so comfortable. Bag collection service operates from here also, which was a bonus. There is a lovely bar/restaurant literally yard away that had very reasonable menu. Price was very reasonable.I was very pleased with my choice.
I read the reviews and was reluctant to try this hotel. However, I loved the location and decided to give it a try. I am so glad I did. It is in front of a local park with views of the river. By a small local bakery and the church and restaurants and cafes are nearby. I walked to the river bank and enjoyed a slice of cake from the bakery there. The staff was incredibly accommodating, kind, attentive and helpful. My room was simple with a terrace and view and it was spotless. The temp control was ideal in the room
The property is very modern. It is well-run and spotlessly clean. The bed was very comfortable and I had a great night’s sleep. The breakfast offering was plentiful with lots of choices, including cereals, which has been lacking at other, higher star-rated hotels. The location is perfect for the weary traveller. I was given a very warm welcome, which always goes a long way after a hard day’s walking. The staff were very efficient and very patient.
Wonderful and super clean modern apartments right in the center of Portomarin . Friendly and helpful staff. They provided us with cookies, coffee and water complimentary. Washing machine in each apartment. Took our washed clothes and brought them back after drying . Apartments are spic and span. Grocery store right next door. Steps to the center. One of the best stays on the Camino. Best bathrooms on our Camino walk.
The apartment is ideally located. Easy to find. Close to the main plaza. A restaurant a few doors down. Spacious. Immaculate. Fabulous bathroom with washing machine. BEST OF ALL is the amazing hostess PILI. we received such a warm and friendly welcome, lots of advice re the town. A lovely lady. When we return to portomarin well will stay here. Highly recommended.
This place is great! Right in Portomarin, one of the cutest towns on the last 100km of the Camino. Friendly owner. Great system of key code entry to hotel and room, I wish more Camino hotels would do this! Room had a sweet little balcony with flowers overlooking the street. Building had two little terraces. Coin op laundry available. Highly recommend!
The staff is very very kind and helpful.
As everyone says, they have pick up and drop service from Portomarin and they noticed it very clearly.
There is a restaurant on the 1st floor and the foods and service is quite good.
The restaurant has an English menu which is not as usual.
Very comfortable little place, just two minutes from the town square in Portomarin. The room was comfortable, the shower was amazing and the included breakfast was excellent. Although I didn’t use it, the rooftop seating area (complete with hot tub) was an added bonus.
The hotel is very well located. Just 50m away from the Cathedral which is centre of the city. Apartement is big with 2 bed rooms and can accomodate 4 - 5 people. It has fully equipped kitchen and dining room as well as living room. I wish I stayed longer.
Location near to the Church and main square in Portomarin. Great stop for Pilgrims on the Camino. Washing machine and dryer available at a cost. I had a clean comfy private room with with shared bathroom. There is a kitchen down stairs which is handy.
After our long walk from Sarria to Portomarino this was our accommodation, it was very clean and good location! The lady for the check-in was very flexible and helpful! Overall was very nice place to stay, value for money!
Awesome people and a great little courtyard to relax - drink a cold beverage and do laudry. The hosts were very nice and I would highly recommend this little place for your Camino stopover in Portomarin.
