We didn't stay in Portomarin, we kept walking for a few kilometers.
Hosteria de Gonzar was an oasis right on the Camino's main path.
Took off our shoes, put on the flip flops and enjoyed the very nice food, the garden, the laundry service and the nice clean room. Staff were very polite and helpful, thank you for that!
Recharged in the evening and off we went the next day!

Very professional, clean and classy hotel with pilgrim facilities. I stayed in a dormitory of single beds, not bunks. The bathrooms are well appointed. Meals, cooked by Manuel, were wonderful. Very pilgrim friendly. Recommend.

The property is very modern. It is well-run and spotlessly clean. The bed was very comfortable and I had a great night’s sleep. The breakfast offering was plentiful with lots of choices, including cereals, which has been lacking at other, higher star-rated hotels. The location is perfect for the weary traveller. I was given a very warm welcome, which always goes a long way after a hard day’s walking. The staff were very efficient and very patient.

Country location great for walking the dog, 15 min drive to town. Hostess very nice and nothing too much trouble, told me off for drinking wine out of plastic cup and gave me wine glass it's a sin apparently in Galicia.
