Finca La Piedra Holidays, hotel in Alora

Set within 43 km of Malaga María Zambrano Train Station and 44 km of Automobile and Fashion Museum in Alora, Finca La Piedra Holidays provides accommodation with seating area.

My stay at the Finca La Piedra was perfect for what I was looking for on my trip to Alora. Jane was the perfect host and a vital source of information for a non Spanish speaker. Furthermore the duck eggs as a 'welcome pack' tasted amazing. The property is slightly remote - so if you're not prepared to walk or don't have your own vehicular transport, that could be a problem.

very traditional whitewashed villge come small town. A couple of interesting historic sites. Doesn't really cater for tourists in the evenings - takeaway or chinese is about it. Transport needs to be looked at carefully so you don't get stuck somewhere you can't easily get back from.

We booked for a week, but if staying longer, would have travelled further afield by train, to see more of the area. Plenty taxis nearby to get to and from the railway station. Alora is a hilly village, we took a taxi up to the Castle and walked back. Went to the bakers every morning for fresh bread, and the various fruit shops to get our fruit, and two quite big well stocked supermarkets, and a butcher shop

Alora is quite Hilly but manageable.

Alora is quite Hilly but manageable. We ate ar Bar Marin (great for Seafood) - check opening days, we also ate at Casa Abilio which was amazing. The large Mercadona supermarket in town is big enough for all food shopping requirements - careful driving into and out of the underground car park. Getting to the Caminito del rey if you have a hire car is a doddle - book tickets in advance from the official website. This website also has great advice https://anywhereweroam.com/caminito-del-rey/ Ronda is an hour in the car and worth a day trip - we ate at and would recommend Pura Cepa. We also did the wine tasting in Alora with www.bodegasperezhidalgo.es - email them to make a booking.

It is a lovely town, with stunning views from all round, but especially from the castle. I stayed there in order to do the Caminito del Rey which was wonderful and Alora is a perfect place to stay to do that. The people in the town are friendly and it is very safe. There are lots of shops, banks, cafes bars and restaurants.

Little village, a small drive from el camito del rey.

Little village, a small drive from el camito del rey. Some nearby roads are unpaved but can be driven with a normal car which is not a 4x4. Peace and quite ! There is one restaurant that opens every day, the other had meals at lunch time, but in the evening was a bingo !

The lift provided access that wouldn't have been possible using stairs. It is the main reason we chose this location. The view from the terrace was amazing. The hosts communicated clearly and often to make sure everything went smoothly. Having "start up" food and beverages saved us from having to immediately shop. The apartment itself was well furnished and clean. The hosts provided a binder of important information about the apartment that was very helpful. We enjoyed our 4 days in Alora, and at this apartment.

The home and the grounds were beautiful, the outdoor shower was fun and invigorating. Liz was an amazing hostess, great conversationalist and her breakfasts were amazing! We were also impressed with the pueblo of Alora and the whole surrounding area. Centrally located within one hour drive of many activities and points of interest. We had a great time in Setenil de Bodegas, Ronda and Caminito del Rey hike.

Super friendly and nice stuff! Did they best to make us feel comfy. The ground floor of the hotel is really cozy and warm to be in. The hotel itself is in an old (around 200 years) house, felt special to have a night in there. The room was large and very clean, same as the bathroom. The breakfast was nice, the owner made pancakes for us and a freshly squeezed orange juice.

A lovely oasis in Alora, close to el Caminito del Rey, Ronda and not too far from the coast. Very accommodating host, offering a great breakfast and even menu options during the day for those who want a pool day. Rooms are a nice size and very quiet and peaceful at night. Easy parking on site and easy to find. Beautiful sunsets - Highly recommended!
