During my cycling trip I booked a night at Hotel Restaurant Burg Ramstein. I had of course seen the pictures and description on Booking in advance, but I was still pleasantly surprised by the beautiful vintage condition of the old building and the location. It is an old family hotel and radiates history on all sides. So if you like soulless Ikea interiors, don't go here. The hotel is also beautifully situated on a hill with a beautiful terrace overlooking the valley. The menu for dinner contains traditional German dishes, the food was very tasty. The service is personal and helpful, you can tell that it is a family hotel. And as icing on the card, even more history; Diagonally behind the hotel is Burg Ramstein, a freely accessible ruins of an old castle. Nice to take a look and enjoy the view. I would go here again in a heartbeat!

I really liked that upon arrival at the hotel, the reception informed about the events in the city! It was a wine event! We had a very wonderful evening at the wine event! I never knew so much information about wine!
Many thanks to the gentleman who worked at the reception for such detailed information!

The beds were very comfortable
Big and ver clean room with a nice view
The location is at the center of town and very easy to access when coming from far, the carpark is very close. The extra price for the carpark was cheap in comparison with some other hotels.
Nicely located for a range of leisure activities. The town itself is slowly recovering from its dreadful high water experience a couple of years ago now, and has improved much already from when we stayed there a year ago. As is often the case in Germany, good for cycling.
Well-placed for some fantastic walks in the Southern Eiffel area, with the city of Trier a 20 minute train/car trip away, and easy driving to some beautiful parts of Luxemburg. For those coming from the UK, using a car, it was a straightforward 5 hour drive. For those who want to drive further from the property some beautiful visits to Mosel towns and historic sites are do-able.

Walking routes are very accessible.
Walking routes are very accessible. Restaurants and a supermarket as well as a couple of hotels and B and B gives you plenty of choice. The hourly train service into Trier is very quick and not costly and means that you do not always need to use the car.
