With its historic silver mine and timbered buildings it could have been the setting for Snow White. Nonetheless it has modern shops and a lively atmosphere. Walking the old streets is a delight but there is also a forest on a mountain to encourage longer excursions, Driving there is no doubt easy; we found travelling by train from Berlin was also convenient. Beautiful charming old town with not too many tourists. We spent lovely days here. You should definitely visit the old mine. Restaurants in town centre serves nice food. Town has good train service to other places but some trains were extremely busy.

Goslar, great little city.

The old town square is the highlight among many!
The old town square is the highlight among many! There are literally hundreds of really old medieval and impressive buildings to admire. We took a morning guided tour of the town centre, booked on the day through the Tourist Information Centre, which was well worth the fee because you get an expert explanation of many features and buildings which you might otherwise not appreciate. We visited the Imperial Palace but there's not so much to see and the guide spoke only German which might be a problem for those who don't speak the language. Dining possibilities in and around the town square are many and varied. Whilst there, don't miss the carillon/ Glockenspiel at the bottom of the square.

amazing small town with a lot to explore! We didn't do much homework before we visit but after this trip we highly recommend to book on-line tickets for the mining museum tours; it shall be another high light beside city tours!HsinyingTaiwan

From the hotel it is only a 3-minute walk to the Marktplatz. a train station is also in a walking distance. 2. Breakfast: The breakfast is served at the table. It consists of several types of cheeses, spreads, jam and honey, fruits. And if you want, they will also cook an omelet for you. The portion is BIG and it tastes great. Please note that this is a vegetarian hotel/restaurant so no meat product is served here. 3. Staffs: All the staffs that I met here were cheerful and welcoming.

We were met on arrival, given the keys and a parking permit for parking around the corner. The apartment is wonderfully decorated - it felt like a home from home - and our hosts were incredibly helpful and friendly. We only booked 2 nights in Goslar as part of a longer road trip but wish we had been able to stay longer. 100% recommend.

You can walking to most of the attractions at the downtow, including restaurants / museums. The breakfast is also very nice, different from Hotels and very close to the familiar home. Also, there is a private parking space (it is very difficult to park at Goslar) and the price is 2 E, which is absolutely cheap. The staff were very friendly all the time and let me to park my car after my check-out.

We were also supplied with the ability to park our car in the driveway. The hosts are lovely and the 2nd floor accommodations were very clean and the kitchen is well stocked with cooking implements. Plenty of towels for kitchen and bath. Televisions are also included in both bedrooms.
