Very unusual place. It is rather a place for longer stay rather than for 1 night. Super large rooms- it looks like at least triple size regular ones. Beautiful garden to walk- it is also very big!

The person who gave us a massage was lovely. She did an excellent job and was very nice and friendly. The front desk people were friendly and helpful. Nice swimming pool but the bar wasn't always staffed. The property itself was lovely.

Cecropia Ecolodge, hotel in San Gerardo

Set in Fortuna, 31 km from La Fortuna Waterfall and 34 km from Kalambu Hot Springs, Cecropia Ecolodge offers accommodation with free WiFi and a garden with a terrace and mountain views.

Absolutely SPECTACULAR! I cannot recommend this hotel highly enough - just book it as you will not be disappointed. The journey is a bit of effort to get along the entry road (definitely get a larger hire car!) but worth absolutely every second of effort. We were welcomed and had amazing food, watching a plethora of birds - saw red eye tree frogs in the evening, hummingbirds, the view from the look out over the rainforest will stay with me forever. Just book this eco lodge!

Birds & Breakfast Costa Rica, hotel in San Gerardo

Located within 30 km of La Fortuna Waterfall and 32 km of Kalambu Hot Springs in Fortuna, Birds & Breakfast Costa Rica provides accommodation with seating area.

We loved our stay at Birds and Breakfast! It felt like staying at your Costa Rican family friend's place - familiar, comfortable and not touristy / commercial. We booked a night walk tour with our host and loved it - he was so knowledgeable and showed us two sloths with their babies, red eyed tree frogs and many more animals that we wouldn't have been able to see on our own. Breakfast at this B&B was also spectacular - homemade breakfast everyday with a view of the many birds flying into the garden was something we'll remember. We even saw toucans from the garden! Location-wise, we debated staying in La Fortuna vs. here but I'm so glad we stayed here instead. La Fortuna is extremely touristy, commercial and stressful. This location is right next to the Eternal children's rainforest, which is equally great for hiking and wildlife but much less crowded than the alternatives near La Fortuna and very calm.

Boasting air-conditioned accommodation with a private pool, garden view and a patio, Santuario de Ranas - Explora nuestro paraíso natural is set in San Lorenzo.

We had a fantastic stay with Maricel and her family. The room was spacious and clean and had everything we needed. The outside area is magnificent with a lot of variety of plants and animals - we obseved a Tucan right in front (1m) of us while having breakfast. We also saw some beautiful frogs and their son gave us an excellent tour around their garden.

Perfect location If you like outdoors .

Perfect location If you like outdoors . The sound of river and night bugs and animals definitely added an excellent plus for us. Restaurant is great and they make whatever you order. The owner goes out of his way to make your stay pleasant. You can either spend the entire day there or take a tour and come back to this little hidden heaven. We ate by the pool while watching the lighting show offered by Mother Nature! I will definitely go back.
