Beautiful national park and the amenities in the surrounding...
Beautiful national park and the amenities in the surrounding town are plenty. It was easy to walk around, although take notice of the traffic on the main road. It got pretty busy and fast sometimes. We stayed near our resort for meals within walking distance- El Wagon was a good family spot for dinner's not spent at our resort. We had an excellent lunch and cup of coffee at Emelio's Café. The town has plenty of grocery stores for any daily needs.
We only tried two beaches. Playa Bisanz had tricky parking and the guys watching cars honestly looked a bit sus. We did not stay there for long. Playa Manuel Antonio was absolutely beautiful. The park fee/ reservations keep it low key and it's well worth the visit and admission fee. The water was warm and the beach clean. Watch your belongings as the capuchin monkeys that bounce around are more than happy to raid your bag, as we witnessed happening to one of our fellow beachgoers.
If you're driving yourself to the park, take notice of the official parking. The locals are harmless but a bit aggressive with trying to get you to park in their lots so they can charge you. We got forced into a lot by a gentleman jumping into the road, then kicked out when we told them we didn't want a guided tour with them. We laughed it off, as we could have easily just driven around him. If you book your adventures with a company, they all offer transpiration.
That said, a guided tour with a reputable company (We did Jade Tours) for the national park is a must. We saw WAAAAY more than we would have on our own, including a sloth fight. Well worth the fee.
We also did a kayak/mangrove tour with Narcacosta and a guided horseback/waterfall tour with Brisas del Nara- I cannot say enough good things about either one of these organizations. Top tier experience, knowledgeable guides, and beautiful facilities.

I forgot to mention before about the assistance I got from the customer service representative ELISABETH. She helped me since the very begin of my reservation to the very end with great knowledge, efficiency and patience. I am I little challenged with the internet but she was right there for me, did not matter the time. We are all lucky for having her.

Good beaches.
Good beaches. Espadilla, even when crowded, is large enough that you can walk a little and get a fairly empty beach if you prefer. A car is a must-have if you plan to explore the town, but you're not missing much if you stay in a resort with beach and jungle access the whole time. The most expensive restaurants are good, all others are nothing special and just okay to not be hungry. You'll get better treatment as a foreigner because people expect tips, so definitely take advantage of that if you are one.

Mid-February is very hot and humid for this area - 90 degrees Fahrenheit everyday. We really enjoyed visiting the park and seeing rainforest wildlife, swimming at the beaches (watch out for strong rip tides!), and familiarizing ourselves with an area we had never been to before. Be ready to pay tourist prices (you are in a high tourism area - and it is so for a good reason), but if you can get an apartment with a kitchen, visiting the Quepos farmer's market and being able to make some of your own meals make this area more affordable. Glen's on the beach has the best chairs and his whole family is so kind and helpful. Going into the park for the first time with a guide is highly recommended, but so is going a second time on your own at your own pace. Get there first thing in the morning, because it heats up and gets busy after 9 AM. Eat at the Falafel Bar, like everyone says, because it is delicious (the smoothies are really refreshing). The public busy is easy to navigate, so use it and explore! Favorite activity in the area, other than the national park, was by far the Night Damas Mangrove Tour with Iguana Tours. Explore and have fun!

The room and bathroom was large and balcony overlooked the jungle, monkeys and birds came to the balcony everyday
The area is so lush with beautiful flowers and trees. The beach area and ocean was really nice. The way down to the beach was easily accessible, the path down has ropes on both sides to help.
Swimming pool was lovely surrounded by tables and umbrellas could have meals there if chosen. Excursions easily booked by agents and very informative.
This hotel was perfect for our visit to Manuel Antonio National Park! The location near the park and the beach outside the park cannot be beat. We were able to leave our car at the hotel and walk into the park. We also loved the pool on the property, the complimentary coffee & included breakfast, and the beach towels that were provided. The best part was probably the staff - the woman who checked us in & out and helped us during our stay was so fantastic. Would recommend this to anyone visiting the park/area!
The location can’t be beat! The room was clean. Staff was friendly. Cold AC. Hot sower. Decent WIFI. Tasty typical Costa Rican breakfast. Is the property older? Yes. Is it a fancy resort? No. Are there cracked tiles. Yes. Manuel Antonio is an expensive place to visit. And for the cost and location it can’t be beat. Review complaining about bugs… you are in a jungle. Noise? You are less than a block from the busiest National Park in the country. O highly recommend this place for a no frills stay.
The staff at this hotel were wonderful, lots of youth on volunteer exchanges that were very helpful. The setting of this hotel is lovely, the pool is nice and the breakfast is very good. The rooms are clean and the bed was comfortable. We also tried the restaurant for dinner and the food was fresh and tasty. It's a short walk to the main road to access the bus that takes you up to the Espadilla beach in Manuel Antonio and the Manuel Antonio National Park.
Well located hotel, very close to the beach and Manuel Antonio parc. The room was simple but comfortable. The staff was very accommodating, allowing us to leave our bags at the reception while visiting the park. We could also leave our car in the hotel's parking.
The pool was a nice bonus. Overall a nice place, but showing signs of ages. With some renovations / fresh paint it could become an amazing location. Ideal for a short stay to visit the park.
If you arrive early you can use the hotel facilities.Very helpful staff, made our stay really enjoyable
Close from Manuel Antonio National Park
Good breakfast with 4 kinds of fruit every day, good coffee, good pancakes good salted choices. The restaurant is placed in a wonderful setting .
We didn’t use the pools but appreciate the nearby beach
Coffee machine and coffee is available in the room
Good bedding ( had the best sleep in Costa Rica)
The hotel was ok. It's very close(beside) Manuel Antonio park. The walk to the beach was awful, it goes beside some sewage stream, we used it once and then used the main road, which is the longer but more pleasant way. The pool is ok, nothing special. The food in both restaurants was delicious and reasonably priced in the area. The staff is very friendly and helpful, they can book activities for you there if you haven't done it yourself.
Nice pools and location within the forest where you can see monkeys, birds, sloths. Facilities include various pools, a spa, and a gym my daughter visited. The self laundry area was very convenient. I reserved Parador since it had good reviews and said it was a 5 star hotel. I stayed in several hotels in Costa Rica, mainly 4 stars hotels, and the experience was much better by far.
If you’re looking for a hotel close to Manuel Antonio national park, look no further. You can get a taxi or car over, you cannot walk but it’s located beside nice restaurants and shops all in walking distance.
This hotel has very clean rooms, comfy beds, amazing pool, super friendly staff. I really hope I can come back one day because it’s the best hotel I stayed in Costa Rica
Located very close to the entrance of Manuel Antonio National Park. Shops and restaurants nearby. Short walk to the beach. Friendly staff. 2 swimming pools. Nice view of the surrounding area to the ocean from the terrace. Monkeys playing on the roof and in tree tops make for enjoyable animation. First stay at a container hotel! Would stay at this property again!
The resort is comfortable and clean. It has beach access and a good on-site restaurant, We saw toucans, squirrel monkeys, and white faced monkeys onsite at the hotel! Convenient to Manuel Antonio park, friendly staff, and 2 pools, one with a nice view of the ocean. There's a steep 1/2 mile path to get to a pretty, secluded beach.
The breakfast was exceptional as was the staff. The facilities were the best we experienced in Costa Rica. Close to restaurants bars and right outside the gates of Manuel Antonio park. Tunnel to the beach was convenient and arrangements for activities and airport transport was made easily. Highly recommend
Outstanding boutique hotel in a perfect location for Manuel Antonio National Park. Breakfast at the pool is freshly prepared. The rooms are spacious and are equipped with a comfortable bed. Parking is directly at the hotel. It is only a few meters to the beach and restaurants. Staff was very friendly.
Walking distance to Manuel Antonio Park Beach. The whole property is very clean. Room is spacious with a balcony. We stayed in a room with a lovely garden view. Walking distance to stores and restaurants as well as entrance to Manuel Antonio National Park. Hotel provides beach towels.
The staff was super friendly and would go above and beyond to help. One of the guys even collected mangos for me while I was there. very friendly! The property is in a great location. This hotel is super close to Manuel Antonio National Park and right across the street from the beach.
The location couldn’t be better! It was right on the beach and a short distance from Manuel Antonio National Park. The restaurant had excellent food, but they had wet paint on a bench and no sign. My kids and their friend sat on it and they all got white paint on their clothes :(
Wonderful hotel in a great junglelike park, best breakfast we had in Costa Rica, very nice swimming pool and terrace with view in the beautiful park - in the morning and in the evening monkeys could be heard, a big variety of birds flew by and we even saw Tukans in the garden.
Nice pool and very close to the beach
Free sun loungers on the beach
Location to Manuel Antonio national park
Wildlife on the hotel site - monkeys, Iguanas, Agoutis, Toucans
Breakfast was basic but did the job
Great location, right on the beach. Right next to the entrance of Manuel Antonio Park. Can take the shuttle for 50 cents anywhere. The rest of the hotels are on the hill and spread far apart
Room was quite large with comfortable beds. Easy drive to Manuel Antonio National Park and the beach. Easy walk to Hotel La Luna which had a great rooftop bar for sunset viewing.
Friendly staff, very clean room. The cleanest towels we had so far in Costa Rica's hotels ( we already travel for 3 weeks). Good location, jungle close by.
