Amazing place. Way better and bigger than what pictures show, with many cozy nooks for those who need some privacy.
It’s definitely not a party place. It’s calm and serene, thank God no blasting music and noisy crowds! Just the sound of the waves.
Owners treated us like family members, they are awesome and open people.
Don’t miss short snorkeling and plankton tours! Price is fair and they’re totally worth it. If you don’t have masks for snorkeling, you can rent them there.
Oh, and I didn’t mention food! Try everything in their menu, Yeimy is an outstanding cook. I especially recommend the crab and prawns with maracuyá.
Some things to consider:
- It’s a remote place, there is no signal. There’s WiFi only at the restaurant.
- Rooms are basic and simple, no hot water, no lockers, no aircons, you even can’t lock the door. There is a fan in every room but we almost didn’t use it, nights aren’t that hot.
- Guest rooms get energy from solar panels only at night. Electricity is off all day long, but you can charge your gadgets at the restaurant area. Fully charged powerbank will be useful.
None of that was a problem for us, we spent 4 fantastical days there and definitely will come back.
This place is paradise!!! The resort has been developed in a very natural way, we felt we had plenty of privacy and space around us. The food could be improved a little but overall the experience was great. The bed was huge and incredibly comfortable! Isla Mucura is the perfect place to relax! Get the elevated kiosk room if you want a bit of extra fun and uniqueness

The hotel is beautiful but it is a little pricey for what they offer. The food at the buffet was delicious but it was too limited. They don’t offer that much variety in the food. They don’t have kids menu so if you are travelling with kids can be challenging. The animation was very poor. The beach was really nice and a lot of space to sit.

Isla Mucura is very small but quite beautiful.
Isla Mucura is very small but quite beautiful. The resort is sealed off from the rest of the island but you can exit via a manned gate. The Punta Faro hotel rooms have no keys and they’re proud of the family atmosphere they have, but in order to keep this slice of heaven they keep the rest of the world out. The remainder of the island is rather poor. There was one nice public beach area just outside the gates to the left with a few bars and tourist stores. It was really nice and I’d want to go back. The rest of the island is rather poor, and the town is interesting to visit but you wouldn’t want to stay there.

We stay in bungalow (1) next to sea.
We stay in bungalow (1) next to sea. The beach in front of the bungalows is very rocky, so basically it is not possible/ or at least dangerous to swim there.
When it rains, water flooded over to my bungalow. They tried to fix it by putting some towels to block the water from the door.
The room should be equipped with extra comforts such hangers, entre carpet, etc.
Avoid going during high season. The hotel is not prepared to host guests when it is fully booked.

Isla Mucura is awesome - clear water, white sand, nice breezes. It is very small - there are no motorized vehicles and you can walk from one end to the other in five minutes. There is a path through mangroves to the public beach which is a nice place to sit and have a drink and swim. There is also a path to the small village on the island which has a small store and a few restaurants, but it is not touristy and can feel a bit like you're gawking at the poverty. But we didn't really need to leave Hotel Club Mucura - all of our food was included, we spent most of our time on their private beach, and they have lots of excursions that we took our toddler on (she did the night plankton tour and snorkeling with us, and they didn't charge us for her). Excellent place for families!
