The surrounding lakes and fall colours made the trip enjoyable.
The town itself remains small and surprisingly hadn't changed much since our last visit 40 yrs ago! We found some good restaurants nearby with exceptional food

The beach area was great with picnic area.
The beach area was great with picnic area. Also great hiking along the river. Downtown there's a cafe next to Stedmans that serves awesome food. It wasn't open this time but we've been there before. The Chinese restaurant, on the main road was very good and staff was friendly, choice of Canadian food as well! Love shopping in the small stores in town, usually can always find a gem in one of them! Great place to visit for sure. Also nearby there is a great movie theatre in small town of kinmount! Also the fair in kinmount is a great time to be there! Lots going on if that's what you like, but also just chilling is great too!

Minden is a quaint little town full of character.
Minden is a quaint little town full of character. Lots of walking trails, unique shops and makes a great jump off point to visit other little towns around the area. Haliburton is only about 40 minutes from here and there is even more to do there.
We left a few things in the room, and the hotel staff managed to save it for us and return it. We also liked that it is a hotel with a long history of existence, which gives this conveniently located place a patina of the past and some special aura.
The location is great, a beautiful spot in scenic Minden. The facilities were quaint and covered all the basics. The code for their front door worked perfectly and it was easy to access the property
