The breakfast was good. Varied in the selection of food.
The staff were friendly and they to remember what we liked.
The tables were plenty and they tried to seat us by the beach. They also altered the menu somewhat to accommodate people’s preferences.

We stayed at Gully Point in Hometown, Saint James, Barbados,...
We stayed at Gully Point in Hometown, Saint James, Barbados, which was an excellent Villa 15 mins walk to the beach/town.
The beaches are excellent, some with less or slightly more rocks depending on where you are, but able to enjoy the water and beach at many locations fairly easily.
If you're not wanting to spend too much $$ for a fancy beachside restaurant, you can often rent a pair of chairs and umbrella for ~ $20 USD for the day and bring your own drinks/food.
The city of Holetown has everything you need from grocery store, Starbucks, restaurants, beachside bars and restaurants.
There are locals who will offer seadoo or various other water sport experiences, but be sure to bargain otherwise it can get very expensive.
Very good overall beach area to visit, safe, but it is a bit on the pricier side in comparison to other islands.

There are 2 or 3 main areas for "stuff" in Barbados... there's the area around Worthing Beach / Carlisle Beach / Christchurch - just south of Bridgetown known as St Lawrence Gap / Oistins.
There's Speightstown
...and there's St James - known as the platinum coast. St James has good beaches and some of the best restaurants and bars on the Island. Great supermarkets for the self-catering traveller and amazing hotels for those who want cosseting.

I only spent a day in St James but I found it to be more peaceful than the Southern coast. The beache I visited was just as lovely as the nicest beach I visited in Worthing. there were fewer shopping opportunities as the area is mostly residential with more impressive hotels

Great location with plenty of nice bars, restaurants, beach access and shops. Busy highway running through but accommodation is plentiful and it isn’t hard to find a quiet spot.
The Tides, Seashed and Fusion are all great options. Buses and taxis readily available everywhere.

St James is an excellent area for a Beach holiday.
St James is an excellent area for a Beach holiday.
But I’m biased I was born in St James. I always return there.
There are very nice pubs and restaurants, you get to see the sun go down. It easy to get to other part of the island. Great public transport links.
Holetown has the Limegrove shopping precinct and a vibrant night life. Massey’s supermarket and Cave Shepherd shopping experience, if you run out of funds there are several cash machines and Banks available.

Saint James is a quiet town but tourists can still access...
Saint James is a quiet town but tourists can still access busy areas such as the Saint Lawrence gap easily from this parish. Lots of nearby pubs for live entertainment and lots of food options to choose from. However food in this region is rather expensive compared to the city Bridgetown.
Breakfast was OK but a bit limited by the end of 2 weeks. A fresh fruit bowl, some salad options and more variety has been had elsewhere. Evening meals are fine: Hotel cooking. Not hugely bajan. Bbds prices abound. Last day had a (good) burger and beer for lunch -£30. Rooms are good, not huge and those at rear of property do suffer with some road noise in mornings. Lovely gardens.
The hospitality, service, safety, cleanliness, location, and community were exceptional. Coral Lane felt like our home away from home. A little oasis that welcomed our family like no other place I’ve stayed before in Barbados. We will definitely be back. Thank you for making our family trip that much more memorable.
Breakfast was decent. This place should not be listed as an all-inclusive. I recently visited, with high hopes but left utterly disappointed. The service was not just lacking; it was downright poor. I asked for my room to be provided additional water bottles and was told to purchase water from the hotel store.
The price. Compared to other properties nearby, it was cheaper and probably had more space that the average hotel room for a similar or higher price. I loved the balcony with the accordion door that could open up the entire length of the wall. The security measures for this entire complex made me feel safe.
Good location, convenient for the beach and local to Holetown and the dive centre at Coral Reef resort. Excellent food and wonderful staff. It was good to have limited free use of water sports facilities at the neighbouring hotel, but see note below about dangerous/difficult walkway access.
not enough can be said about our wonderful host Denise and her family: they were very welcoming and very kind to us during our whole visit. when we return to Barbados this will always be our choice of where to stay…. I cannot imagine anything more wonderful.
Wonderful family run hotel. We had a lovely, spacious suite...very clean, great location. The staff was amazing from the time we checked in to the time we left. Super accommodating. Highly recommend, will definitely stay again !
Great rooms and location. However the main pool was not functioning and we are not made aware of that at any point before getting to the hotel. So sitting on the main terrace and on the loungers was unpleasantly noisy and dusty.
A beautifully situated small hotel in well maintained tropical gardens with two excellent swimming pools. The staff were, without exception friendly and helpful.
The dining facilities, food and ambience all top class
From the moment we arrived and was greeted by the hotel owner we knew we had struck lucky with this hotel. The two bed apartment we had booked exceeded our expectations. Everything was really great.
