Very nice apartment. Very clean with lovely furnishings. I loved the small touches like fresh flowers and a complimentary cheese platter. Our hosts were delightful and couldn't do enough for us. Great location, right in the main street. Best place we stayed in Tasmania.

Stanley is a unique location with a rich history. Staying at the Ship Inn helped us to appreciate this location and its history. Excellent eating places within easy walking distance - Stanley Hotel provided a very enjoyable meal; Hurseys is a must visit with great seafood dishes, with an array of other options. Stanley is very easy to get around both on foot and by car. Only one bowser for petrol provided a challenge, but is easily managed. A great place to visit.

Nicely set up for tourists, with a wide range of accommodation options. A good base for exploring The Tarkine Drive (and some short walks along the route). Stanley has specially designed, red-lit platforms for admiring the little penguins coming ashore in the evenings. There is a nice, wind-swept walk around the top of the Nut, which hosts a colony of pademelon.

Penguin viewing, walking the town and enjoying a great coffee at Marley’s and excellent takeaway fish and chips from Hurseys. We arrived at 8 pm on Day 1. Spent Day 2 visiting the Tarkine area then walked around Stanley. Day 3 we enjoyed the Harvest Market - excellent for fresh produce, craft and music.

Accommodation was superb and pub was just across the road. If we had more time, it looks like a lovely little town to walk around. Definitely take the chair lift instead of walking up the hill. Then you have the energy to walk around the top of The Nut.

Stanley is a beautiful town with lovely houses and places to eat, drink and shop. A trip on the chair lift to the top of The Nut was excellent. Icing on the cake was seeing the little blue o penguins come home after a days’ fishing.

Loved the location right on the Main Street and so close to everything. The cottage was quite perfect with lots of thought into what would make a guest’s visit extra special……candies, chocolates, lots of different teas to pick from, a decanter of port, and lots of breakfast goodies. We had a beautiful view from the cottage and wished we could have stayed longer than just the one night. There even was a Christmas tree up for the holiday season! Might come back to Stanley from Canada just to stay at Touchwood again!

3 couples in the 4 BR cottage which was absolutely delightful. Great location, can walk around to the main street or down to the beach. Nothing to fault. Loved the fireplace. Would definitely stay here again. Pick the key up from the hotel reception, then drive up around the corner to the house. Good parking. We visited the beach at the Stanley Conservation Park behind the Golf Club and it is gorgeous view back to the old houses.

The town of Stanley is quaint and lovely. The apartment was sparkling clean. The views were amazing. There are several decks and sliding glass doors to look out over the sea. Everything is within walking distance. We were able to walk to the sea to look for the penguins at night and see the wallabies on the streets after sunset. The hotel was enjoyable to sit and have a drink and converse with the people in the town.

Fabulous location with a great view of Stanley. We loved the breakfast options provided, and the amenities (full kitchen with all the cooking utensils you need, washing machine and dryer, spa bath overlooking the view, comfortable king sized bed) and the small touches like the local chocolates on arrival and flexible check-in. We're already talking about coming back to Tasmania just to spend more time staying here!

The best part of this place is its incredible view of Stanley. The kids loved the play area where they can play and see some very cute goats nearby. Fast internet, which is unfortunately not too common in Tasmania, felt like a blessing. The beds were comfortable, the bathroom was nice and tidy, and heating was great.

We stayed in Sea Salt House for two nights. Beautifully comfortable bed with luxurious linens. Exceptionally close to the shops (highly recommend Stanley Hotel and the Providore), and a short walk to the Nut. Although the house could do with a bit of a spring clean, we loved staying here.

Really enjoyed our stay here, had some personal history for me as we lived on King Island when the cable Stanley-King Island-Apollo Bay was changed to a Tas-Vic cable in the mid 60s. Great idea to leave the telephone exchange open for people to see the history.

Fantastic location in the main street across the road from the hotel and easy walk to the main seafood restaurant. Also a 5 minute walk to the chairlift/path to take you to the top of the Nut. Older cottage but homely and comfortable for our two night stay.
