Piccolo Hotel enjoys a quiet location, an 8-minute walk from the Locarno Train Station and the centre of the city. Frokosten var god og vi kunne forsyne oss med frukt, men skulle vi ha egg kostet det ekstra. Kaffen var dessverre alltid bare lunken. Syltetøyet var godt og personalet var hyggelig. Ticino Feriekort som man får via hotellet gir gratis transport med tog, lokalbuss og postbuss så man kan dra på utflukter uten å tenke på feriebudsjettet, dette gjelder flere steder i Sveits.

Flott beliggenhet ved sjøen samt gåavstand til bykjernen. Godt utgangspunkt for tur til landsbyen Gandria og til Monte Bré. Resepsjonen var hjelpsom med råd og informasjon. Standarden på soverommene er tydeligvis blitt oppgradert nylig. Anbefaler rommene med utsikt over sjøen.

The Hotel&Hostel Montarina occupies a historic Villa built around 1860, only 200 metres from the Lugano train station. location was exceelent, very friendly staff, the swimming pool was a great extra! very clean and quiet with nice common areas

Jacuzzi was not working because it was November already, could imagine this to be a perfect addition to our stay. We had 2 excellent days in Lugano. Thank you Walter Au Lac. Bottom line: I've read the reviews here complaining about the street noise: It's a hotel at a lake with a street on a lake shore. What do you expect, a road closure for the whole night? Some complain about small choice for breakfast? Seriously?
