Hotel D’s rooms were fully-renovated in February 2016 and are equipped with LED-backlit LCD TVs with laptop connections, as well as LED rain showers. They offer panoramic views over the Old Town and the Rhine River. Everything was fresh and modern. Good location. Staff was outstanding - made us dinner reservations and really helped me out when I lost my phone.

What a warm welcome! I was impressed how clean and tidy is the hotel, comfortable bed, water at the fridge, shiny bathroom. The Hotel Victoria offers traditional hospitality and modern hotel comforts in the centre of Basel next to the main train station (SBB). You will be enchanted by the unique atmosphere of this stylish hotel. This is a true gem! The location is unbeatable - central Basel. Everything is close. The room was spotlessly clean. The wifi was free and fast. The bed linen from famous Swiss producer Schlossberg was luxurious and soft. The towels also pure Schlossberg quality. The bed was super comfortable. Two types of pillows available: feather and foam. The foam one was a dream. Perfect pillow. The air condition worked flawlessly. The bath tub and shower head the best ever. The body lotion is wonderful. The trash in bathroom is huge & exactly what I always miss. Bravo! Toilet, sink and taps in old fashioned, castle style - pure luxury. Everything was amazing in this room. Super friendly staff at the hotel and reception. I loved it all! Tip: I've parked spontaneously at the nearby underground SBB park-house and it was a pure jackpot; they have extra large parking places. We paid 17 Swiss Francs for one night of parking. This was an amazing discovery, knowing how expensive public parking is Switzerland is.

The Central City Hotel Rochat is housed in a historic, listed building in the old town of Basel. The accommodation enjoys a central and very quiet location close to the university and the cantonal hospital. The hotel has a small garden and free WLAN. Great place, perfect location! Incredible window view (I was in the upper floor), very quite and calm. Just next to the hotel "ZaZa" wonderful vegetarian restaurant adds a great bonus!

The family-run GAIA Hotel Basel can be found right across from Basel Main Train Station, only a 10-minute walk from the historic city centre. All rooms include a minibar which is refilled every second day and which can be used free of charge. Really convenient location, extremely attentive staff, comfy rooms, good breakfasts in a beautiful setting and the Sauna !

Situated in a historic building in central Basel, Euler Hotel is opposite the SBB Train Station. Guests receive a Mobility Ticket, granting free access to all means of public transport. The Basel Exhibition Centre can be reached by tram within 10 minutes. We were thoroughly impressed with every aspect of our stay. The hotel's location is superb, right at the junction of all tram lines. The staff, particularly Nada, provided excellent service throughout our visit. Cleanliness was top-notch, and the hotel's decor added to the overall experience.

If you up for a smaller and more individual hotel, give it a try. The service was from begin to end exceptional, and yes, I was lucky to get a room upgrade which of course added value. Great restaurant included, even a Michelin star one if you are a foody and book early
