We had a memorable stay in Coimbra, mostly because of our stay at Casas da Alegria and the fantastic service we got from our hosts. We were picked up from the train station by Ismael, the owner's young son and were given a quick tour of the town, with highlights about different coffee shops and restaurants with specialty and authentic foods and information about the places to visit during our stay. He then drove us to the apartment which was a duplex with a beautiful view of the river and the vicinity. They had prepared a bottle of port wine and the special Portuguese Pastel de Nata., which was a such a nice welcome. The place was completely and tastefully renovated with full household amenities, including water bottles, extra sheets and blankets etc. Ismael gave us his number and asked us to call him for any help or service we would need during our stay. On our departure day, we spoke to Ismael to see if we could leave our bags in the apartment after check-out, so we could do a last tour of Coimbra, and that he get them from the apartment and meet us in the city center to take us to the train station. He was cooperative in every way and couldn't do enough for us. It was great!

I stronlgy reccomend. Probably one of the best hotels I visited on business trips. Localization is excellent. Plenty of bars, ice cream parrols, restaurants just below with local charm. Staff very kind and helpfull.

It's a short walk to the historical centre and the University of Coimbra. Our suite was spacious and perfect for a family of four. The breakfast buffet was very good. The swimming pool and spa was very relaxing.

Great location right in the center with free parking space. The staff was unbelievably friendly and helpful. The Aircon heating worked very well too. I would definitely stay again there.

One of the older nh locations but sitll ok. Convienient parking place in garage. Very nice breakfast.
