The overall experience of staying in the guesthouse was good & the place (castle) is kinda perfect for a romantic weekend. The staff was helpful & the amenities were as described. Beware that the ground rooms have low ceilings and the shower has a bolted ceiling - meaning u cannot really move much. The floors are cold because you do not have wooden floors. The entry to our guesthouse was a small door, and we had a nice terrace right outside that was private. We ate the breakfast at the hotel which was 250m away from the accommodation.

I cannot express how wonderful our stay has been thanks to the hospitality at Ritsos Guesthouse! The accommodation is more than comfortable, clean, exquisitely decorated with style. The breakfast has been amazing and so delicious. The town is straight out of a fairytale!

Sleeping inside the walled city is an experience not to be missed. The hotel has a main building that serves as a reception area, tastefully decorated with windows overlooking the parade ground of the military fort. The town's main church is open in the same square. The rooms are located in several small houses near the main building. They are small, cosy rooms with wooden furniture. Our room had a bed with a headboard, small armchairs, mirrors, a nice old table, all in 19th century style. The bathroom was all marble and new. The air conditioning, which in Greece is a must in August, worked perfectly. From our little house we enjoyed a view of an enclosed garden within the walls of another partly ruined house, with birds singing in the morning and crickets all day, and a view of the fortified mountain. The owners are cultured people, infinitely polite and hospitable. It is a place for people with refined tastes, simple but elegant. The owner does not prepare breakfast, but it can be ordered on request (4 different menus, tasty and plentiful!) and served on the small terrace of the main building from 9.30am to 11am. We hope to return sooner or later! Thank you again for the warm welcome!

Ardamis is an excellent choice when staying in Monemvasia. Very close to the main gate. Beautiful and traditional stone accommodation with stone arches, a comfortable bed, kitchen with coffee facilities, and sitting areas with lounges. Such a warm and friendly welcome from Vassilios who showed us around our apartment. Do order the delicious breakfast from Pita Fresca, delivered to our door and enjoyed in the morning sunshine on the terrace overlooking the sea. A really beautiful stay.

Unique hotel concept of restored rooms at various locations in the old city. Generous breakfast buffet ( Greek pastries both sweet and savoury, eggs, yoghurt, cheese and meats, fresh orange juice). Check-in just inside the gate and staff extraordinarily helpful. Very responsive to limited mobility of one of our party - provided a room close to the breakfast café and a upgrade to a room with a balcony and a more spacious bathroom. It was magical staying in the old town.
