I was staying here with my 4 months old baby daughter for 3 nights in July 2022. We had the only room on the second floor, with direct access to the roof top patio with ocean view. It was brilliant. We basically had the whole roof top patio all for ourselves. From the bed, we were looking on plants and a seating area that belonged to the room. Behind that were several chairs and tables that are supposedly used for breakfast normally, but nobody was using them during the time of our stay. Everything was super clean and the room was very nice. It even had a fridge. It was basically two rooms, a bedroom and a lounge area with sofa and TV, that were separated by a wooden room divider. The location was very central in the old town with cafes, restaurants, bars, shops, supermarkets and the beach all in close walking distance. The only downside was that it could get rather noisy at night since there were bars right next to the hostel. However, we found a perfect solution for this: the sofa was convertible to a bed, so we slept in that part of the room - if you close the door between the two areas it is nice and quite there. The ladys at reception were very nice and helpful - thank you very much for that! I wish we could have stayed longer but the Hostal was unfortunately fully booked for the following two nights. Therefore, we had to move to another place for our last two nights which cost almost the same but was a lot less nice than Hostal El Alojado de Velarde.

Amazing location! Right in the heart of everything. Staff was attentive, friendly, and very helpful. I travelled with my cousin and two kids, and there was space for all of us to feel comfortable. We fell in love with the location, and will definitely be coming back soon.

It's a perfect size, big enough to offer something for everyone without being overwhelming. Swimming pool is a decent size with plenty of sunbeds and access to, and wonderful views over, the stunning Playa de la Fontanilla. Plenty to do around the hotel for people of all ages too.

Generally not our favourite style (a matter of taste), but it was very atmospheric. It was quiet despite being close to the street (congratulations to the area designer). The grounds of the resort very well organised, parking convenient but separate from the flat area. Smart gate access system (via mobile app), which is important given the vastness of the resort and the possibility of entering from different sides.
