Kevin's Old House is located in the former French concession in Shanghai in a little street not accessible by cars so it is a quiet neighborhood. As in the name, it is an old house, it breathes history with its wooden staircase and large rooms with polished wooden floors, but make no mistake, the rooms are fully equipped with modern, A brand, equipment. The service is excellent. We arrived at 1AM due to late night flight into Shanghai but the owner came to meet us in the street where the taxi stopped and helped with the luggage. With a smile :). Check in process was smooth. An extra bed was arranged for our daughter as we had asked. The room was actually a 3 room suite with a large bathroom, a large living room and a large bedroom. Room was clean, wooden polished floor, a lot of wooden polished furniture which gave the room an authentic look. Good quality mattress. A copious breakfast was served at the Italian restaurant on the ground floor. I got a western style, my wife a Chinese style breakfast, without even having to ask. Not that we would have minded if it were different but it shows the level of service and attentiveness. The coffee was good :). We didn't have time to try the Italian restaurant but a look at the menu shows very reasonable prices so we will definitely try that next time we are there.

In Shanghai, it's a small but very and nice place. Super clean, very well maintained character hotel, build in 1936. Price was totslly fine, breakfast very well, employees definitely caring. I liked it a lot and absolutely recommend.

Location - this hotel is really very convenient - it is about 200m from the Jing'an Temple Metro Line 14 Exit 15, it is really near the metro - there is so much to do around the area aside from the temple, there's so much food options and malls as well - it is easy to walk to the former french concession areas such as ulumuqi road, wukang road Room - amazing room, well maintained - very spacious - very clean - had plenty of plugs for charging electronics - bed was comfortable - windows were very clean (goes to show that they dont skimp on housekeeping) - water pressure was very good, water was very hot as well (amazing for winter) Service - amazing service, very helpful, tended to all our requests and queries sufficiently and quickly - i happened to order a ton of taobao goods, the management and staff aided me by collecting the parcels and assisting with sending it up to my room on a daily basis despite the volume - on the last day after checking out, the manager helped us with directing the cab towards the hotel lobby (because road leading to the lobby is a little bit hidden from the main road). Because of the number of bags we had, the manager had the staff help us with the luggage and brought it down on the bellhop trolley - the room service was daily and done very well

I love its proximity to the Bund! It is also just a walking distance to East Nanjing Road which houses several shops and food stalls perfect for shopping and food trips. Aside from that, I appreciate the cleanliness of the room and the bathroom despite them being dated. We had a comfortable stay at an affordable rate considering its location! Most of all, the front desk officer was very accommodating and helpful especially when we asked for a taxi service to the airport. Definitely staying here again should we visit Shanghai again. 😊

Got many extra like a huge complementary mini bar, fresh fruits every day, a huge breakfast with an order option. Additionally some extra gifts which I never expected. The staff are very professional and helpful, the restaurant was fine. I was only there 2 days but enjoyed it's ambience. There are some food places and coffee shops nearby and a supermarket. If shopping is your thing you should visit Nanjing Rd which has malls, designer shops, food places, I guess it's Shanghai's Oxford street [London].

The hotel is run by a lovely and hardworking family. They will do their best to make you feel at home. Unfortunately due to the corona crisis their cafe in the lobby had to close down, but they are considering to reopen it. Not your regular 5 star impersonal business hotel, but a home away from home. Highly recommended.

Love the design. Also the Bar had good cocktails and very friendly staff. I was early for checkin and my room wasn't ready. The very friendly employee then gave me another room, which turned out to be an upgrade. Thanks a lot. As my room was not ready at the time of arrival I was given a suite, which was outstanding - very spacious, and excellent interior design - the lighting switches for example were superb, with labels for Day, Evening and Night, and the bathroom was lovely and spacious. The breakfasts were fine, though more breads and more Western choices would have made them top-rate. All this for a very competitive price! I am very likely to stay here again.MichaelYoung couple
