Todella mielenkiintoinen paikka, sijaintina. Näköala hieno, joelle. Todella rauhallinen majoituspaikka. Meistä pidettiin hyvää huolta. Mahtava aamiainen jäi erityisesti mieleen.

We arrived at almost night, but a really friendly Host opend for us. The booked room was a apartment and really cosy, clean and neat with an comfortable bed. Unfortunately we stayed only for one night. A big recommendation from us.

What an adventure to stay in a medieval “palace” though with modern plumbing and lighting! Mertola has a number of small, very interesting museums with items collected from archeological digs and disused religious facilities — sacred art, Islamic art, a Roman house — along with a fairly intact castle and archeological sites. It is well worth visiting and Mertola Castelo Palace is just steps from all of this.
