I had booked this place because we were going to do an activity in the area, it was canceled on that day but I kept this booking even though it can be a little difficult to get to (I would recommend taking a taxi from the train station, bus service is highly irregular).It seemed like it would be a good experience (staying at a Traditional Japanese house in the country). I was right. Kenji is an excellent and helpful host. Our room was one of the most beautiful we stayed in, lots of detail: carvings , kami dana, beams etc. The beds=futons were warm and comfortable. It was quiet and you could see stars at night. You are near the river and can see/ cross one of the famous bridges. This is rural Japan and I loved it.

Everything was perfect and the hosts are such an incredible lovely couple. Couldn't have asked for more. There is also a fantastic sashimi place down the road.

Excellent Hidden Property along the Niyodogawa river. Just beside the Aso Submersible Bridge. The quality of the house is so excellent that it is too underrated and the photos don’t do justice. The actual house seems to be so better and witty visiting.
