This is a top quality place to stay. Located in a really cool small town. Very Spanish and thoroughly enjoyable. The hotel is completely renovated (approx one year ago) yet keeps many of the traditional historic features as in the well and cellar. The rooms are extremely clean and comfortable. They are well appointed and the showers are excellent. Facilities as in the swimming pool. Super clean and big enough to chill out in along with a children's area at the top end. There is also a gym facility and opportunity to book a massage. (on-site) Car parking is on-site in a private garage adjacent to the hotel court yard. This accessed via the rear of the property. The host was most helpful in how to access. If you have an above average sized car be aware Spanish historic streets are not that wide!! Should guests wish there are full facilities to BBQ/cook both covered and internal to the buildings. Breakfast is optional (recommended) plentiful and very fresh. Very enjoyable. Mercedes is a truly lovely host and nothing is too much trouble, from helping with parking guidance to serving a great breakfast. The town Colmenar de Oreja is a very traditional Spanish town with a Plaza Mayor 5 minutes walk from the hotel. Plenty of bars/restaurants around the plaza. One of the nicest restaurants we used for menu del dia and also for dinner , both exceptionally good and value for money was Crescencio Restaurante (opposite the large church) in the centre of the town. In summary, fantastic hotel with great staff. If you are looking for a place to stay in a super little town Tinajones is a must.

Beautiful wooden beams and exposed brick contrast with a modern kitchen, bathroom, and furniture. Everything was spotlessly clean and José has left us ice cubes, coffee capsules, tea etc all for our convenience. He was a friendly, knowledgeable and very available host who helped us to plan some walks in the area and learn more about the town.

A very cool place in the middle of the tiny mountainous village of Hiruela, north of Madrid. We are a couple and we had the entire house to ourselves, two floors, two bedrooms, a fireplace, a kitchen, a washing machine and so on. It's a renovated village house that is modern and comfortable with a lot of special character. This was probably the coolest place we've stayed in Spain, initially we planned to stay for one night, but after arriving decided to book another night so can fully enjoy the place. There are few short walks around the village and I did several of them, the nicest one was through the forest and valley/stream beneath the village. It was so small, and maybe because of the pandemic everything was closed, no restaurants or shops, so we had to come with our own supplies but that's not a problem. There were two adorable village dogs that came along with us to the walks, and stayed outside our house waiting for us, which was really fun because we love dogs. The hostess was super friendly, didnt speak English but waited for us in the pouring rain when we came in the evening, and after that we communicated by writing (using google translate), she provided us with timber for the fireplace and was very helpful.

I travel a lot for work (I stay in business 4/5* hotels 1/3 of the year). This was by far one of the best accommodations I have stayed at. It was super clean. It was quiet. The kitchen was designed in a way that you could actually use it. There were lots of pots, pans, cutlery and even basic food items. And everything functioned as it should and was super clear. The host was extremely friendly and thoughtful. She went beyond all efforts to make sure I had a comfortable stay. It was very clear from the design of the house that she had considered both comfort as well as practical perspectives for all details. Contrary to most other accommodation, here I truly felt at home. The home was warm (it was a cold night) and cozy, with plenty of natural daylight (but also good curtains and shutters for privacy/darkness). The location was wonderful. It's walking distance from the train station (I came by train from Madrid). It's super close to multiple grocery stores. The village is beautiful and the mountains (recommended for a day trip) are amazing. I truly look forward to go back here some day.
