As a Kosovo Albanian living abroad, I was not really concerned language wise to travel to North Albania as we speak the same dialect. I was though not expecting much of this stay other than the beautiful nature. What was waiting for me and my friend, definitely exceeded our expectations. We got picked up in Tirana by whatsapp communication. Arriving at the port, we waitied a bit for our boat and then it took us about 1 hour to reach the villas. The boat ride was lovely. Gorgeous nature. Absolutely mesmerizing. When we arrived at the villas, we were welcomed by a very friendly guide. I forgot his name but he was absolutely amazing. He spoke very well English as-well so my friend and the others could understand. He was high spirited and very efficient. The villa´s are family owned and the old man of the house was an absolutely amazing host. He reminded me of Albanian hospitability from the past. Very gentle, very hard working and very welcoming. My friend and I could not eat so much food because the portions were big, the old man did not even want to take payment for that. To me that is the epitome of Albanian hospitability. The old man took us to Lumi i Shalës, about 1 hour away with boat. He was so patient and stopped the boat if we wanted to see the mountains or caves up close. We stayed for about 2 hours and swam in spring water. It is a must to visit Lumi i Shales. Mesmerizing narture. There is a bar there as-well with the best drinks we had so far during out trip. The villas are cute. The are built exactly for a mountain stay. To us they were perfect in size and with an amazing view. The food was great and the portions were big. The service was amazing. The entire host family was so friendly. As someone who is afraid of dogs and cats, I loved the animals at the place. Very well behaved cats and dog. I was not even scared as you could see they were well trained. One of my absolute favorite places I have visited in my life. North Albania is mesmerizing.

When you drive up, you don't expect to find such a green paradise from the street. We immediately received a warm welcome at the restaurant. We walked to a separate part of the garden where the 4 houses are located, shielded from the restaurant guests. Super small-scale and quiet! We were immediately impressed how beautiful the view was of the river and you could even see the castle. The house is luxuriously furnished with an eye for detail and equipped with everything, even bathrobes. In the evening we ate delicious local fish from the river, among the local people in the lush garden of the restaurant. Children enjoyed themselves at the playground. Very atmospheric, especially because it has not been completely renovated and you experience the real Albania. We woke up feeling rested in the good bed with a view of the river, so nice. A cool splash in our own swimming pool in the morning was great fun. We were surprised by the extensive breakfast with traditional delicacies (our son loved it!!) It was very nice that all the people from the neighborhood enjoyed their coffee in the restaurant. You really feel among the local people here. Breakfast could even be served at the cottage, but the experience in the restaurant is much more enjoyable. We received great tips for sights in the area from the super friendly and hospitable familyowners. Next to the castle we found Ura e mesit, the old bridge, highly recommended. We enjoyed it so much, thank you very much for this wonderful stay.

Nastanitev Fran's Traditional House je v mestu Shkodër, 49 km od znamenitosti Pristanišče Luka Bar, ter ponuja brezplačen WiFi, klimatsko napravo in vrt. Location was excellent and very easy to find. The place was clean , comfortable and spacious, and had all the facilities. I had an amazing time, highly recommend it!😃

Nastanitev Villa Ujëvara e vogël se nahaja približno 2,8 km od znamenitosti Narodni park Theth in ponuja razgled na gore, verando ter aparat za kavo. Aleks was a great host. He was attentive, kind, and very friendly. The views from the room were breathtaking, everything was as it was advertised online. We traveled in early May with high temperatures being in the high 60F, and lows being low 50F. There was no need for the small electric heater or fireplace. We kept the windows open almost all day long, and even the one upstairs at night as our first night we were a little warm since the room stays well insulated. The included breakfast was not only delicious, but the views from the dining room were a huge bonus. Quality of food was outstanding. The olive oil was amazing quality coming from Aleks's family in Greece, the goat cheese was from a local in Theth. We opted in for dinner at the Villa for the additional charge and it was worth the price. Portions for two felt as if they were really for 4 people. Wifi was strong and reliable.
