The Vila was very close to the airport and it was a quick drive to Funchal. The Vilas are very clean and had all the basic needs provided for you, like kitchenware, towels and toilet paper. All pictures of the Vilas are exactly what you see, spacious bedrooms, balcony off every room, beautiful view of the ocean, and a safe quiet area. They even set up to have a cleaning lady come to the vilas twice a week to clean, change towels, take out the trash and give you more toilet paper. Owner has very quick response time (even given the 5 hour difference. We had notify the property owner, prior to our stay,the arrival time of our flight. As a follow up email, we were also given a number to call when we were 10-15 minutes away from the Vila. The owner was already on site as we arrived by taxi. Owners were quick to respond to all emails and questions. Overall we would highly recommend a stay a the Vila and will book our future trip at this place.

It's a mix of old stone made house (when you come to the parking) and a very cool modern villa with a pool is you are in the front side. The view is stunning, you have an overview of Santa Cruz, Atlantic ocean and planes going to the FUN airport. A lot of space, 2 BRs, 3 toilets. The host was very helpful and eager to help with any kind of request we had.

A very comfortable house, undoubtedly a great place to stay in Madeira. Located away from tourist centers, yet only 5-10 minutes by car to the VR1 highway. We can choose either a very steep route with a slope of 30-40% in places, or a slightly longer, more comfortable route, although also steep in places. Peaceful and quiet neighborhood. The house is located in the rural area of Santa Cruz. In the morning we were woken up by the crowing of roosters and the singing of canaries :) There we could experience how the local inhabitants live. The house is surrounded by cultivated terraces, there are narrow walkways between the houses and the crops, along which irrigation channels have been improved. On the other side of the road, slightly below, there is a levada, different from all levadas visited by tourists - here you can see how lavadas are used in practice to irrigate crops. The house itself is very comfortable, with a well-equipped kitchen, living room and two bedrooms in the attic. There is a small garden and a barbecue area. Sea View. Beautiful sunrises. There are planes landing and taking off below, but their noise is barely audible. Hosts from Atlantic Holiday were very helpful and we were able to get all necessary information via WhatsApp. We strongly recommend Casa da Horta! (or no... don't go there and leave a slot for us to book again ;) ) We want to come back here again!

Spacious and clean house. Excellent kitchen and a large table for a group of friends. Beautiful view of the ocean, Funchal and landing planes. Quite a steep road for a car. It is better to use the serpentine rather than the road suggested by the navigator.

We liked everything about Quinta Meneses. Berta welcomed us very warmly even if we arrived very late at night. It was magical to arrive in her beautiful house nested in a great garden. The house was extremely clean and cosy. We wish we had stayed more and hope to be back some day! Thank you Berta!

Although the location is more convenient if you have a car, but you can take a taxi from the airport as well as there's no direct bus connection.

Its in the middle of beautiful, quiet and green countryside. The views are amazing. The cottage itself is brilliantly equipped, it has everything and is decorated very tastefully. Light the fire, pour yourself a glass and enjoy the unobstructed stars all around! A must visit and would make a great base for exploring the island - they even have a car to rent!
