Futons on tatami matting and a traditional onsen (shared hot tub). There is also a small hot tub in the room. The family have been running it for 13 generations. It is designated museum as they keep it as traditional as is possible. Our room gave onto a delightful Japanese garden just in from the coast and was very tranquil. This is not for people looking for modern conveniences.

The hotel was close to all the transportation options like the train, bus, and bike rentals. Love the fact that we can access the public bath in the hotel next door too.
