We booked to stay on Elsie for New Years Eve as a family of 6 and for my husbands birthday. We loved the uniqueness and quirkiness of Elsie. Our children were so excited to sleep on a train and loved waving at the Steam Engines as they passed. The property was clean and well equipped. The bedrooms were super cosy and all the little touches and old GWR items made it such a delight to stay. The old lamps and photos around the property made it feel so special. Our children LOVED the bedrooms with the Harry Potter bunting and fairylights and said the beds were so cosy. We received the nicest welcome basket and a few food items to keep us going - which was a really nice and an unexpected touch. We enjoyed staying up late and playing games whilst eating some wonderful food and a memorable trip to Minehead for a swim in the sea on New Years Day, and a family walk around Minehead visiting the arcades and beach front pub for lunch. Minehead is only a 10 minute drive from Elsie. We had great communication from Emma who popped the heating on for us before we arrived and was flexible with checkout with us having such a young family and 4 kids to get out the door.
