West Coast Shores, hotel in Jacobs Bay

Featuring a terrace, West Coast Shores is situated in Jacobs Bay, 37 km from West Coast National Park. Free WiFi is available.

The room and bathroom was spacious, with a good bed, linen and generally very upmarket. The house is very close to the sea, although it does not have a sea view. The price (excluding the added cleaning fee) was reasonable.

    loved everything.

loved everything. I would add something .to do. like a khol kohl or a dipping pool or the internet just to watch a little movie in downtime. but otherwise it is a perfect location and super clean. friendly Host. no problem. I had my niece come along and he took the trouble of schlepping up another bed for her to sleep on. thank you so much.

    We had a great stay!

We had a great stay! Only the weather could have been better, but that is out of anyone's control! We had a wonderful lunch and dinner at Weskusplek, a drink at O'Driscoll's and lots of walks around the town and coastline. We did a day trip to Saldanha, St Helena Bay and Paternoster which all had points of interest with pretty drives and views along the way. We were able to paddle our SUP's at Jacob's Bay and saw people fishing.

Jacobs Bay is centrally located to use as base for trips in the West Coast area. Visiting these small towns and experiencing the culture and life make for lovely experiences. It is close to larger towns such as Vredenburg with relatively good general shopping options available since Allview is self catering.

This is a quirky friendly little community without pretensions. I loved the wild long beach at Hospital Bay rather more than the little rocky coves. But wherever you are the sunsets are riveting! Eateries have specific hours so best to visit on a weekend unless you’re self-catering. Bean and Leaf restaurant has a great vibe on a Friday night - always friendly and welcoming. Easy to reach here from Cape Town too.

We used the trip to scout the area from St Helena's Bay to Saldanha Bay. We enjoyed the stay and we were well rested. Friendly reception and the area was worth our while. Roads are good and the towns were not too far away.

Jacobs Bay is a quite small seaside resort.

Jacobs Bay is a quite small seaside resort. It is far from the crowds at some of the adjacent resorts but a short drive from larger towns with all the shopping and other facilities that one may require. It is ideal for a peaceful quite seaside holiday. It has a small number of friendly drinking and eating facilities and only one small supermarket. The Atlantic waters are cold so it is not ideal for swimming but there are plenty of seaside walks.

Jacobsbaai Backpackers is a magical place, with its many plants and succulents and beautiful sculptures that are everywhere. You can get pancakes and coffee for breakfast, there is an outside bath that can be booked for the whole family, and visiting the fairy and pixy garden was a unique experience. The hut we stayed in was perfect, simple and super comfortable. From the backpackers it takes only a 10 minutes walk to the ocean, where you have the choice between a calm bay and a more adventurous beach with big waves!

We simply loved the silence and the cleanliness. We did not like that the place had an alarm which when we try to exit our room the alarm triggers. We are smokers and obviously had to go outside to smoke. We had our baby with us, we would settle him 1st and then planned to chill outside bit could not due to the alarm being on. That was unpleasant. We booked an upstairs bedroom but got a very small hotel like room downstairs. It's self catering but we had nowhere to prep anything besides an outside table.

Unfortunately, there were very little that we liked about All View Apartments. Jacobsbaai is a pretty village but I would recommend only going there if you are okay with very little amenities. Our expectation was of a property with a view as suggested by its name…but we were welcomed by a building site opposite the property and once the house build is completed it will definitely not be ALL view but rather NO view.

Take It Easy is a lovely flat where one can hear the rustle of the waves daily, view the gorgeous sea while snacking and enjoying the sun on the balcony, and sleep in. Comfortable bed each night. We loved our time there and will definitely come again. There was excellent communication and we enjoyed the sweet treats left for us. We’d highly recommend Take It Easy for anyone coming for a visit to Jacobsbaai.

The unit is perfectly suited for a couple with al the necessities for short or long stay. The host are paying attention to small details which was a pleasant surprise. Bathroom shower is commendable in size. Location well placed, out of busy areas but close enough to major shopping center in next town.
