Beautiful lodge and terrific staff. It was warm and inviting even though it was so cold outside. Lots of activities for Christmas and if you like cross country skiing they have a great set up. And down in Winthrop you can ice skate or rent snow mobiles. Almost every dish we tried from the 2 restaurants onsite were delish.

It was wonderful to have breakfast made every morning. The fresh baked eggs were the best.
A few options without sugar would be awesome - example yogurt, peanut butter, whole grain bread

The town of Winthrop is one of the many unique small out of the way places that has a fun character harkening back to the early days of this nation. The Town has maintained its small western town identity that can take visitors back to a more simple way of life. Even though it is a bit on the touristy side, it is worth the visit. Most impressive is the mountain range that Winthrop is a gateway to. The North Cascades Highway winds through some of the most awe inspiring landscapes in the USA with its rock formations, lakes, rivers, and dams not to mention the mind numbing hiking trailheads all along the road. My wife and I went for the hikes and were not disappointed. With Winthrop as our base, we could have spent a week hiking.

Winthrop is a cute little western style town.
Winthrop is a cute little western style town. If you like to meander through shops then this is the place for you. We like to hike and bike and thought the trail maps were very limited as we prefer not to ride on roads or mountain bike, just easy trails. The State Park is beautiful and the lake is large enough to fish, SUP, boat and swim. We will definitely return to the town, as camping opportunities abound.

I absolutely hated this place.
I absolutely hated this place. The room was full of mosquitoes but yet we never got bit outside. The buildings were all in need of repair. The eaves were broken. The pools were all dirty one hot tub was not working. The small pool actually had a dead rabbit stuck in the filter. When we told someone about it nothing was done. We left that same day and forfeited one days stay. We all vomited on the way home three times. I still get an upset stomach every time I think about it. Our family does not make much money and we spent a lot of money here. The money we spent on the e-bikes was not worth it either. In my opinion this is a dead resort and needs to be buried.

Winthrop is a real "western." town.
Winthrop is a real "western." town. We went to the Old School house brewery for a great hamburger and beer made at this facility. Winthrop is right on the road to perhaps the most beautiful mountains in Washington. For motorcycle riders, hiway 20 over Washington Pass to Winthrop is the number one rated ride in the state.
For the price, the room was just fine. There was lots of room, there was a small fridge and microwave and there was a table to work at, plus some other clear floor space. Staff was very friendly and very helpful. The hot tub was great. It is very close to the ski trails and relatively easy to walk to all things in Winthrop. Also pretty central for all ski trails access.
Hotel Rio Vista is all about location! You can walk out of your room and right into down town Winthrop, grab a cup of coffee, browse shops or enjoy an excellent dinner at any one of the great restaurants. We have been to Rio Vista many times and always come away refreshed! Our second floor balcony looks right out onto the river, and every season there is something to see!
The location was excellent, Winthrop is a cute little town just outside of North Cascades, which makes it a great stopping point when visiting that area. The inn was amazing, clean, lots of little details in the room that we loved. Breakfast had a great selection of food, the hashbrown was super delicious. Would definitely recommend.
I have never been to Winthrop before, the Observatory Inn was very comfortable and felt very much at home, it was clean and very cute, room was small but very very nice to be In. I would definitely stay there agin. The location was very central to the town and everything to do there, so that was very nice as well.
Wow. This place is amazing. The cabin is cozy and warm, even with unusually cold temperatures in the valley, and the layout is perfect for preparing our own meals. The bed was comfortable, and the place was clean. It's also close to everything in Winthrop, so we could just walk from there.
It was nice that a hot breakfast was available each day. Unfortunately, as I cannot consume gluten or dairy, I was limited on my breakfast choices. The location was excellent; while outside of the town of Winthrop, it was less than 1/8 of a mile to get onto the Nordic trail system.
Location to Winthrop Downtown. Easy parking. Grounds were immaculate. Room had a very welcoming cozy feeling. The common room/lobby had an amazing setup for those staying with movies, games, and a variety of books about the area.
The lodge was well constructed. Solid and beautiful. You never heard your neighbors when you were in your room. Staff was extremely friendly and very efficient. Winthrop was boring, but the lodge was excellent.
very clean. Kitchen area good set up for simple meals using microwave oven. Cute deck to sit on to relax eat a meal. Lots of hiking trails around the area, restaurants close by. Winthrop and Twisp fun to visit
Great value, clean and large room. Winthrop is a gorgeous little town but accommodation is expensive, the Winthrop Inn was value for money. It's a little dated but very clean.
Great location close to downtown Winthrop , room was very nice , very clean . Staff was exceptionally friendly and helpful. The breakfast was very good too .
