Winslow was the only affordable place in Northern Arizona...
Winslow was the only affordable place in Northern Arizona because of the crush of Grand Canyon visitors and the over-pricing of accommodations in the area. As such a site of overflow housing, it's OK. Not a destination. Most of the people staying where we did are construction workers who apparently are pretty hard on the place.

Amtrak is my favorite way to travel and the luxury of getting off the train, and then sleeping at La Posada makes my recovery from a long adventure much more pleasing. Good food, good beer, good staff, and good location. I always try to remain at this location and check in here in my travels, knowing it is safe for me.

The only that I didn't like was there was no continental breakfast, this pillows were old and no support. Rooms were very clean and place waz quiet and a great location. We had to wait beyond check in time because they were behind in the cleaning.

This town has its highlights and famous tourist sights in the heart of the town. The song by the Eagles "Standing in the Corner " is the most popular and photogenic street. A few casual places to eat and reasonably priced and the Trail Museum gives a great historical review of the town's changes through the years. The World Trade Center Pillars Memorial where it displays "United We Stand" is a very sentimental and honored place to see. Watching the trains quietly rolling along the tracks from the back yard of La Posada historical hotel gives you a feeling of yesteryear, nostalgia and serenity all at the same time.

The Restaurant and Brewery across the street from "Standing on the Corner" had the best Reuben sandwich. The list of beers and name of the beers were so representative of locations throughout Arizona. We thought that was awesome. Unfortunately, we didn't have time to have a beer. Next time we come through, we'll be sure to have one.
Easy check-in and check-out. The staff was nice and friendly. Rooms are as expected. They are clean and the beds are comfy. Nothing luxurious but it is a great place to stay when in the area if you don't want to pay for expensive hotels. One side note...Mojo Coffee is right next to the hotel, so you can walk to it and get breakfast and coffee. And I suggest you do....because they roast their own coffee and it was the best coffee I've had in the whole USA so far. By a large margin.
The only thing I liked was location. However, other motels in town had equal or better location.
Scratch that. The other motels did have better location with more stores, restaurants, easier highway access.
So no, even the location wasn't great.
Have more pics, but Review only allows 4.
It ended up costing $87. Please, spend $15-20 more & go somewhere else.
Charming historic hotel with a warm and welcoming feel. The staff was lovely and helpful. We thoroughly enjoyed the artwork and museum. The gift shop has good quality items although the majority of the pottery is not Native American but Mata Ortiz from Mexico. The Turquoise Room has an interesting menu and is very good.
This is a genuine resort hotel and has lots of things to supply comfort as well as an escape from usual travel stops. The vegetation, courtyards and art displayed on walls add to the enjoyment. Also, the restaurant atmosphere and food served are first rate.
it was close to Standing on the corner of Winslow Arizona but that’s as good as it gets, it was really not clean and the dust was laying think on the old television.
