The property was nice. The tubs are nicer now than when I first stayed there, no peeling paint but I know they were remodeling at the time. We enjoyed the breakfast.
The Econo Lodge offers nonsmoking accommodations in Vidalia. Rooms have a flat-screen TV with cable channels. Certain units feature a seating area where you can relax.
Great growing town. I would recommend the downtown area for good food and boutiques. Also, try Southern Fields restaurant in a beautiful setting overlooking a pond and trees. If you like antiques, head over to Lyons about 10 minutes away and visit The Red Wagon Vintage Market. I would also recommend Swainsboro about 20 minutes away, their downtown, and a great place to enjoy a lovely buffet at The Coleman House, an old beautiful mansion with excellent food and price.

I came down to visit my mother; but it had been a while since I had visited. I have heard that “drugs and drug abuse” is really bad in Vidalia and that gave me a bad impression. I also saw a man that I was told that was a “drunk.”

The Onion Inn is a great place to stay.
The Onion Inn is a great place to stay. It far exceeded my expectations. The Captain D’s is a great place to eat along with the Shoney’s restaurant that is next to the Onion Inn. Also the Vidalia onions are great!!
