Upper lake is a great area to visit year around.

Upper lake is a great area to visit year around. We enjoy the lake, boating and casinos in the winter. Many lodging options and prices. We own a timeshare and visit several times a year. We also stay at other resorts. We recommend you visit Clear Lake and the Upper Lake area.

Not much to review--Tallman Hotel is the highlight of the two block long downtown, with it's next door restaurant, the Blue Wing, being an attractive, tree shaded stop for good lunch. No access to the lake at Upper Lake. We might have stayed a night at the Tallman for it's semi-historic nature--although it's not the original building from the 1880's--but for the lack of any King size bed rooms. Sorry, a double just doesn't cut it. In short, there is nothing here to attract a stay.

    I loved almost everything.

I loved almost everything. No breakfast as advertised due to no gluten free bread. I had 1 piece of toast. They had no more provisions. No microwave. No late check out. Loved the pool, food, music, ambiance, friendly guests, and helpful staff.

Leaving our ranch in Oregon and coming to Lakeport for Thanksgiving was a great experience. What made it great was we went from our home to another home with it's own views and beauty. The home was very well appointed and the little touches were special. Everything from the Welcome basket to the well stocked linens and kitchen. Even the bathroom drawers held anything one would need. It made our time memorable. Thanks again!

This is a lovely location with kind and helpful staff, delicious breakfast, and extremely well-appointed and comfortable rooms. We loved sitting on the porch in the quiet. It's worth noting that the hotel has quite a lot of live music, usually during the day and early evening (over by 9 PMish), and it's quite audible from the rooms. Perfect if you're into it, but a bit tiring if you were hoping for more peace and quiet!

What my children and I appreciated a lot was the hospitality of the staff, who was quite enthusiastic and knowledgeable about the history of the hotel itself. In addition to that, we all really enjoyed the breakfast, which consisted of an expansive selection of foods/snacks, but never felt overwlehming at all. Also, the subtle things like free cookies and plastic cups were something we appreciated as well.

This hotel is cute, and the staff is super nice, plus, if you book a water view, you'll face a very quaint lake. But I just did not think it was worth the $300 per night I paid. I'm assuming the price was higher than normal because it was a holiday weekend. I found the room smaller than expected, and the mountain-view would have been nicer if there wasn't a parking lot in between.

We enjoyed a lovely overnight stay at the Tallman Hotel. The King Suite was clean and very spacious. The balcony outside was a wonderful bonus, especially with a very fine band playing below until early evening. And it was a special treat to have dinner delivered to our room by the Blue Wing Saloon next door.

This is one of the most beautiful hotels anyone can stay in. The rooms are thoughtfully furnished with delightful touches that make you feel the owners were thinking about a travellers comfort rather than just providing a nice room and a bed to sleep in.
