The Lovill House Inn is a simple wood frame historical building in the beautiful mountain setting of Boone, NC, with outsized comfort, truly exceptional food, and remarkable ecological commitment and capacity. I will start with what impressed me most: the memorably gourmet breakfast included an omelet with ramps foraged by staff! The breakfast was the best meal I have ever had at an inn. It included a "dreamsicle crisp," which had us all exclaiming out loud. The inn gives onto 11 miles of mountain trails, and there is a waterfall in the backyard! The beds were superbly comfortable, and the rooms all suite-like and spacious. The living room had a rocking chair my grandmother had in her living room!

The hotel was very clean and well kept. Our room was very clean, we had plenty of hot water, water pressure was great, and it was very quiet. The pool and gym were both very clean, plenty of towels, equipment in working order, etc. The breakfast had plenty of options for every type of diet/taste and far exceeded our expectations. The complementary dog treats, waters and coffee were a great added touch. Staff was very friendly, helpful and knowledgeable of the area.
