The location was fantastic. Walk to everything. Unfortunately, I was only there one night, on Sunday, on Easter so most things were closed. But perfect location for bars and restaurants and shopping.

It rained! Excellent location for shopping, dining and business.
The downtown Christmas SPIRIT wasn't the same as it was 10 yrs. ago.
The shops downtown weren't very cordial or have much of a seasonal flair! We would definitely NOT go back to St. Charles for the atmosphere of the town. Missing was the Santa Clauses dressed in the attire of various countries-unless we missed them. They used to dress to match the counties traditions and give out little cards describing their specific country of origin.. The Christmas spirit was gone!

St Charles area is a good destination with their Old Town area, proximity to Katy Trail, and close to Hermann, wine country scenic drives.
So, depending on where you are touring in the St Louis area, it is worth a look at St. Charles as a hotel location. Keep in mind that the metro area is very large and traffic is fairly heavy.

We loved the quaint shopping and dining area of St.
We loved the quaint shopping and dining area of St. Charles and the brick streets. There was street parking and free parking lots provided in the shopping areas. All the stores we visited had friendly staff. We ate at Magpie's the first evening and liked the food and service so much we ate lunch there the next day. The town is easy to get around but don't get in a hurry parking on the street as the curbs are really high. We were told about the fun events that occur several times throughout the year that make St. Charles a great place to visit in every season.

The rooms need a detail cleaning.
The rooms need a detail cleaning. Walls in the restroom was nasty, spider webs hanging in ceiling, floor needed to be vacuum, and the tub need to be clean good as well as the toilet.Just the whole room need a deep cleaning. But I only needed to sleep there for a few hours before getting back on road... So for the price it was fair, just need to be cleaned better, especially the bathroom. Overall the guy at the check in window was really friendly.

Don’t travel on the weekend stores and shops short of help...
Don’t travel on the weekend stores and shops short of help and very few open. Casino restaurants were closed two opened. Just disappointed this was our favorite place the area had really gone down hill.
We were in town to visit a relative. The hotel was close to her house. It was right off the highway very easy to get to. The breakfast all 3 days was very delicious and with all the choices my husband and I could each select what we wanted. The gentleman who was the breakfast host Friday morning was a delight. He offered to get us anything on the breakfast bar and even came by our table to check on us and cleared our used plates for us, an exceptional employee! Also the weekend hosts were very fine.
Everyday I ate breakfast at the hotel. The staff was very friendly, the food was hot and delicious. It had a variety of food selections to appease every individual specific diet. I loved the different flavors of tea; the tea was very soothing. The dining room was very clean and serene area to dine in.
It is conveniently located a minute off Interstate 70. Located on historic downtown St. Charles, it is walking distance to so many small storefront shops. The mix of small businesses, craft and artsy stores is amazing.
The hotel was close to the venue as well as other shops. The staff I met were very kind and helpful. There was a little issue with our room and the staff were very accommodating to our issues.
Breakfast good, typical of the Hampton chain. Location was perfect for our St. Charles plans.
The BAD - location signage stinks, WiFi stinks, Cleanliness was ok, just ok.
Our evening meal in the restaurant was very good!
The waiter was great and the food and service were excellent. We enjoyed dining in the hotel it was very convenient.
When we stay in St. Charles, MO, this is where we stay because its central for us. also it is what we like in a motel. The rooms are always maintained and inviting.
Check-in was fast. Room was outdated and beaten up but clean. Surprisingly comfortable bed. I chose it because this hotel because it allows smoking in the rooms.
