Convenient location for wedding venue in South Hampton.
Convenient location for wedding venue in South Hampton. Dated but absolutely clean and maintained meticulously.
Accommodated over 35 family members. Has a large veranda outside 1st floor rooms for family to gather.
Staff members were perfect hosts.
Only drawback was that it had no elevator in our building because it only had two floors.
And mirrors were high on walls. No full length mirror.

I love the place but I think the pool should have had adult swim hours, even one would be great. There wasn't much opportunity for adults to swim that school holiday weekend so I think at least one hour should have been for adults. Thanks, Denise Mc Carthy

Riverhead is conveniently located near the North Fork of Long Island. We absolutely loved the the Long Island Aquarium. If you like nature, we can highly recommend Wildwood Beach on the Long Island Sound, the Cranberry Bog and the Lavender Farm just outside of town. Getting around Riverhead is easy and major stores and restaurants were within a short distance from the Swiss Motel.

River Head is in close proximity to the both the North and South Forks and other areas on the western part of the island. It's a very area with many tourist attractions. The people are nice and it's not too much traffic.

This hotel is really in Calverton, next town from Riverhead.
This hotel is really in Calverton, next town from Riverhead. The back yard is beautiful, but the room interior and outside buildings are over 40 years old and need updating. Some updating was done, but the carpets are old and outside upstairs flooring and stairs are very old. The stairs are wooden, so if you can't climb, be sure to book on the ground level.
The staff are wonderful, kind, and hospitable people! The maid helped to bring my luggage to my room upstairs.

What a great town!
What a great town! Excellent food options, walkable Main Street, clean and welcoming. Indian Island Park is a standout. Incredibly beautiful, well-maintained and respected natural resource. I will return.
this was our final stop on our road trip - we wanted a hotel that wasn't too far from JFK (but not too close either) this was perfect - Rivehead gave us the opportunity to see the hamptons and Sag Harbor and also do a little bit of shopping to take presents home with us.
the hotel was very peaceful, spacious and clean and the breakfast buffet was good. It is also worth mentioning that this had by far the most comfortable bed i've ever slept in also
i couldn’t even check in as when we arrived to the parking lot and were about to go to check in the police was there assisting someone in the hotel and recommended us to leave and look for another hotel as we were told that is not safe there, that they always go there as there is lots of theft and prostitution there, and that people enter through the hotel windows to steal rooms and also break car windows to steal. The police recommended to leave
I didn't expect much when I booked my room; I was hoping for a decent room. The Swiss Motel was definitely the cleanest room I ever stayed in. On top of that it was a huge room (rm22) overlooking a stream. I would definitely recommend to my family & friends. The Swiss Motel is the hidden secret of Riverhead 👍👍👍👍👍
We had six rooms booked for our daughters wedding. My daughter and the bridal party was getting ready in her room at 4:00am. The hotel staff had coffee and food out early for them. The rooms and suites were beautiful. Looking forward to staying there again for a nice weekend getaway.
It was absolutely spotless, new and clean . Breakfast was decent, I didn’t like the lighting and the chairs in the lobby were a little uncomfortable but staff was super friendly and helpful. Also parking could be a problem when hotel is at full capacity
The friendly and helpful reception team. I turned up early and they accommodated an early check in. I was also travelling without a car and they helpfully provided the hotel shuttle car to get me to my coach pick up point.
Riverhead river walk and restaurants were very nice. If the hotel invests so that $225 a night is justified, then this might be a desirable hotel. Or drop price to $75 per night and then we'd know to expect a tired out room.
I have traveled to the area for work and stayed with the hotel a couple of times. I was able to use the pools this time and LOVED IT. Staff, location (tanger outlets around the corner) and rooms are all superb!
Over priced small room front desk was not helpful not welcoming the photos didn’t reflect the hotel they charge Manhattan prices for a place in the middle of no where really disappointed
No much to like, just a bottom of the line hotel for 200$ more a night than it would cost elsewhere .some creepy druggy type people, and the smell of refer in the air
