It has turned into a ghetto town, with many boarded-up buildings and run-down houses and the only development is downtown mostly. I did like the Green Olive which used to be Dutch's tavern. I didn't eat in Marion but ate in Gas City. There are not many healthy selections other than fast food there.it is not easy to get around Grant county at all lots of exits to and from are blocked and you have to take different routes to get to your destination. I would avoid this city at all costs if possible. Its a run down slum

They lied about the pool being open when though the confirmation I received said the pool opened on March 15. They said the pool was closed for repairs until further notice. The room was dirty, the bathroom had a new sick but the toilet paper towel holder was broken, the tub was curved so it made taking a shower extremely difficult and I almost fell. It was a huge safety hazard and there was NO hand rails. The bed was worn out, sagged, and extremely uncomfortable! The pillows had stains on them from previous guests usage. They also said they room came with a hit breakfast and there was NO breakfast at all. No donuts, nothing at all provided! The only amenities you receive is the bed for the night and it was horrible to!! When I went to check in at 4 pm the receptionist said she had tried to call me to see if I was still coming and check didn't start until 3 pm. When I arrived she was telling a gentleman they were full and if she did have a room it was going to cost $200. I think she was going to give him my room despite the fact the confirmation said my room would be help until 5 am for late check in. This room was not worth $50 let alone the $200 she was going to charge him. This room was so bad my family referred to it as the Bates Motel! Do not say here until the remodeling is done!

The towels, bedspread, and sheets were thin, discolored, thin, and obviously old. They gave me the creeps. I'm used to motels with crisp, white, clean bedding and towels. Spend a few bucks and get some new towels and sheets! Bedspreads were spotted and old also. No coffee maker and no bath mat for safety. Disappointing.

The town itself seems a bit depressed but you may like to go there to see the Christmas lights along the river. They do a really nice job with the lights and it only costs $5 a carload to drive through. The kids would love it and the grownups that I was with enjoyed it too! The best place to eat is the pizza place on over the bridge from the lights, on the river.

Had hoped GPS could provide a shorter route from Baltimore as opposed to the PA turnpike, Ohio turnpike, and segment of the IN toll road. A local listing (map) of fast food restaurants and the location of gas stations would have been helpful.

Booked a handicapped accessible room I'm an above knee amputee. No handicapped bars. No phone no coffee maker No AC! I used to travel for Mt work and stayed in hundreds of hotels. This was the absolute worst. Very seriously thinking about call the ADA on this Crack where hotel! Then they charged me 102 bucks for this sorry room! I had family that was going to stay there but I told them about the condition and they canceled their reservations

I found this hotel after a terrible night somewhere else. The front desk person, Joyce was very nice. She asked what I was staying in town for and gave me the IWU student & parent discount after U told her I was in town for a school intensive. The room was excellent and exactly what I needed to rest and work on schoolwork. The location was great and close to everything I needed. I will 100% stay there again when I return for my graduation.

The staff was excellent. In fact, they were the best hotel staff I've ever dealt with. They were informative, attentive, happy and you could tell they enjoyed their jobs. The motel was clean and well kept. The food service staff was excellent. Please give my compliments to the Holiday Inn and Express in Marion, indiana. We are booking there for next years event! Thank you!

I loved the privacy. The room was not as clean as I would have liked so I bought my own cleaners; however, I am a clean/germ freak. For example, even though I saw them sweeping and mopping floors, after a few hours walking around in white socks, the soles were BLACK as if walking in mud. I am sure it would be fine for most.
