Though it's a small town, the views are remarkable. Maryhill museum, Maryhill park, are both really close. There are a couple of restaurants and some small downtown area to walk around. Nights are cool in the summer too.

It's an economically rising area with a lot of space. An interesting countryside. A very nice downtown area with at least a couple of good restaurants and a nice friendly bar. Maybe two.
A really nice museum that is worth spending a half a day, at least, looking over the great collection of local history.

We stayed in Goldendale to break up a longer trip to Ellensburg, which we needed to be by 10am the next morning. It's about a 6 hour drive from our home to Ellensburg.
We didn't really do anything in Goldendale except go to the hotel, walk next door to McDonalds for a bite to eat (very convenient; really clean McDonalds) and then just relax in the room.

We were right off the hwy with easy access, very quiet area with small grocery and even McDonalds and DQ near by. We felt comfortable and safe. It's a small farming community, and a cute little town. Little or no traffic.
The people at the Ponderosa were very friendly and attentive. The part of the hotel we stayed in was the older section. The room was comfortable but the bathroom look rough and needed some updating.
Perfect little house to get away and stay at! It’s just 5 short blocks away from town and you can walk to just about everything. Nice fenced in yard and quiet neighborhood!
