Duck is a quaint town with a beautiful boardwalk that meanders through the marsh. There are shops and restaurants on the boardwalk. There are painted horse statues throughout the area. The photos were taken on the boardwalk

The shops in town are interesting, but you have to drive to Kitty Hawk to get most things. The traffic is bad as the cars have to yield for crosswalks throughout town. Duck Doughnuts was great! The pier was nice on the sound as well.

Northern Duck is beautiful and quite serene.

Northern Duck is beautiful and quite serene. The problem is the traffic. It took us an hour and a half to go 11 miles around lunchtime on Friday. Getting in Saturday afternoon was even worse. They need to add a lane to the road. (Currently it’s one way each way). It’s crowded even during the week.

    Lovely, walk-able, bike-able, expensive.

Lovely, walk-able, bike-able, expensive. Love this place, and it loved my wallet! Everywhere we ate had a high sanitation grade and all places had delicious food! I don't know of anyone in town that does not offer good food and good service, I just have not experienced any bad restaurants - but they all cost a little too much! Walking on the sound side or the beach side is fantastic, and the shops experienced had plenty of nice inventory. Kayaks, paddle boards, bicycles, and many other outside play items available for rent.

The only thing I enjoyed was my family was with me.

The only thing I enjoyed was my family was with me. The woman at check was very rude an I didn't get the unit I booked. I am disabled and I asked for no steps, an was put in top unit with no view, which was supposed to be beachfront views, an furniture was so old you couldn't set on couch cause it sagged to floor,an when I spoke to woman upfront about issues she was just as rude as when I checked in ,an wouldn't make the mistake right. Housekeeping doesn't clean well either.. only way I would stay again is if they gave me free nights for the front desk rudeness and unit mess up...

Duck, NC was a bit crowded and the constant traffic flow is hazardous for walking and for entering into the traffic lane -- and this was October! Duck is densely populated - which was a surprise! The Boardwalk was quite nice. The food is wonderful! Next time, I would travel to Corolla to stay.

There are 2.5 bathrooms which is very good when you have more than 2 people. The kitchen had all the necessities, although some were difficult to find. The beds and furniture were comfortable. Towels and linens were clean, as was the entire unit. I was contacted to see if we needed anything, which was a nice touch. The area has a lot of restaurants and shops. It's close to Corolla and the wild horses to the North and Kitty Hawk/ Nags Head to the South.

Nice to have a garage to stow beach gear. The view of the sound and proximity to a neighborhood dock for sunset views terrific. Very dog friendly neighborhood. Appliances great. Kitchen was well appointed. Enclosed porch with screened windows that could be opened was delightful. Overall, we were thrilled to find a dog friendly place to stay! The welcome gift from the property management company so perfect. Check in/out communication perfect.

The grounds are lovely. The area of the beach is very nice. The bathrooms are okay but more did not have a bathtub and I was hopeful at this price point there would be more luxury.
