Danvers is very close to Salem and the accommodations at Sonesta were fantastic. We were so close we decided to Uber/Lift back and forth to the hotel. We were right next door to a shopping center/Mall/restaurants. We definitely would recommend staying in Danvers.

A great jumping off point is you are a history buff.

A great jumping off point is you are a history buff. Danvers was the historic Salem Village in the 16th, early 17th century, They changed the name when township was granted and to try to get away from the bad press of the witchcraft events.

Don’t stay at this hotel. Do not waste your money.

Don’t stay at this hotel. Do not waste your money. Sleep in your car or anywhere else. Horrific experience. Broken safety locks, wires hanging out of the walls, bugs in the room, hair in the tub,. There is no way the room was cleaned between occupants. Spent $150 at Walmart to buy sheets and towels the cause the hotel was so unbelievably dirty.

    Such a lovely little place!

Such a lovely little place! Close to everything we wanted to do, but also far enough away that it wasn’t loud or too busy. The historic homes and buildings around are to die for! My husband and I are actually talking about moving up there in the not-too-distant future :-)

Breakfast was excellent, staff was SUPER nice and accommodating - every single one of them which was so great!! Nice walk in shower, and nice fridge and microwave. Bed was super comfortable and hotel was very quiet. Smelled good and clean in the room too. No one bothered us, I LOVE that housekeeping is by request only. Nice, safe neighborhood with some nearby restaurants and only 25 minutes North of Boston. A very good value compared to in the city.

Can-do attitude of staff. This is the number one factor in managing a hotel. Layout of room and availability of walk-in shower for my husband. Comfort of beds and pillows. Cleanliness of rooms and overall facility. Quality and selection of breakfast foods, and large, attractive eating space. Outdoor sitting patio and indoor pool. Operating Windows to let in fresh air.

The hotel was very nice and the staff was super friendly and helpful. The location was great, it is right next to a Target and several other shops and restaurants. We took an uber to and from Salem each day and it was only a 15 minute drive. I would definitely stay here again!

The room was big and clean, the bed was so comfortable! I stayed here on my drive from Kansas to Maine. It was the first comfortable bed I had in 4 nights and I didn't want to leave it to finish my drive. Breakfast was a typical hotel breakfast, the potatoes were delicious!
