Perfect location in Kanchanaburi. Just a short walk to the Bridge and a short drive to areas downtown such as the museum, night markets and skywalk.
The hotel is actually set on the river and it is beautiful to use the seating down there, or have a drink at the restaurant and watch the sunset.
Rooms were small but comfortable. Tea/coffee provided. Coffee is a percolator and they also have a decaf option. Laundry service on site, but it is not cheap, although they do a great job. Staff here were really lovely. Breakfast is in the restaurant and had some good variety. Definitely worth the inclusion. We also had a nice private outdoor seating area off the room. Plugs by the bed for charging, which is always preferable. Air con was good, although off when you leave the room as the room card is the electricity. Two bottles of water provided daily. TV in the room, but didn't use it.
Featuring free WiFi and an outdoor pool, The Bridge Residence Hotel เดอะ บริดจ์ กาญจนบุรี offers accommodation in Kanchanaburi, 1.1 km from The Bridge of the River Kwai.

Very clean and large room with enough space for the kids to play. We received a lot of free drinking water aswell which was really awesome. The room had 2 rooms which were connected by a door and each room had its own AC. Sadly, the safe was already locked when we arrived so we couldn't keep our things inside.

Really great place to be out of the madness. We stayed at the Royal River Kwai which was stunning. It was quiet, there was bird song. We took a river tour and went to an elephant sanctuary where we fed the elephants after helping them wash in the river and walking with them in the jungle. We didn't have enough time to do the train trip too and the main town area looked fun to check out - which we didn't have time to do either. We stayed 3 days here - I would recommend staying 5 or more - especially if you want to have days where you do nothing.

Great to visit such an important wartime location and experience just a tiny bit of what many prisoners of war had to endure. As with all sites like this, it’s not somewhere you go for fun, but it’s an important part of history and keeps the memory alive

Kanchanaburi was a fun place to stay for two nights.
Kanchanaburi was a fun place to stay for two nights. Erawan waterfall was definitely worth a visit. I was there in early March and other waterfalls in the area I was told might not be worth the trip due to having less water. Erawan has much less water this time of year than the rainy season, but it was still a very beautiful place to visit. I enjoyed the railroad museum and seeing the bridge over the river Kwai. There are good food and coffee options in Kanchanaburi and the train from Bangkok was a fun (but hot) experience.

Fantastic city to expand your knowledge of WWII. The Bridge.
Fantastic city to expand your knowledge of WWII. The Bridge. Thai-Burma Railway Museum (don't waste your time with any of the others). Commonwealth graves immaculately maintained. Hellfire Pass an hour away (watch The Railway Man before you go). Also great golf.

We loved a 2 days stay at ElephantsWorld!!!
We loved a 2 days stay at ElephantsWorld!!! That was the most incredible experinece so far in my life. The elephants are not chained, they walk around on their own, and after the afternoon visits leave the place you can stay alone with them.
We also loved Erawan Falls a lot! And of course you go to see the River Kwai Bridge. But we could have stayed for a week or more in the region - it is beautiful!

Apart from the attraction of the Commonwealth War Graves(...
Apart from the attraction of the Commonwealth War Graves(including many Dutch graves), the Bridge over the River Kwai and the War Museums, it is quite a large town, but without much to attract the average tourist. It is the gateway to the surrounding area with lovely countryside and other War memorials etc. But it really is not a holiday town.
the whole place is amazing! the location right by the river. happy hour to watch the sun set every evening was perfect. the staff especially Arm was amazing. They go above and beyond! We arranged a boat to pick us up from
hotel steps on river and go out for the day. Very reasonable prices. We will definitely return when we come back to Kanchinaburi. The bridge is a 7 minute walk away, we are at the floating restaurant under the bridge every evening. Amazing Thai food for good price. We loved everything about our stay.
Wonderful location overlooking the river and a short 5 minute walk to the famous bridge. Great pool and incredible variety to choose from at breakfast. I was in the larger garden room and thought it was perfect and quite luxurious. Staff terrific especially the front desk young lady named Amp. Very professional, courteous and knowledgeable. I was very surprised to learn she began work at the hotel only a month ago after finishing a program in tourism. She acted as if she had a lot of experience.
This was a great hotel with lovely, friendly staff. The location is very close to the bridge over the Kwai and is situated on the river. The food is excellent and very good value. It has a very good clean pool for swimming. The hotel is very close to many bars and restaurants. I must mention Ann in the restaurant and May at reception who were superb and deserve special praise. In my opinion this is the best hotel in Kanchanaburi. Will definitely stay here again.
This is a posh hostel, and has private hostel rooms as well. We stayed 3 nights.
Bed is very comfortable and sheets very clean.
A/c is cold and shower is hot.
Rooms very nice.
Staff are all friendly, and Mink was especially nice and helpful. The rooms are very clean. Breakfast was good, and they have free water in rooms. Also served coffee and food.
Would recommend this hotel.
Good position and good price.
Also has outside seating area and car park.
The Guest House had a beautiful garden, it felt like a small oasis in the city. There were nice seats to have breakfast or to relax any time. The owners were extremely helpful, they gave us a map of the city and explained the main sites. They offered to drive us to the busstop multiple times in the scooter side car. We also got to rent bikes to explore Kanchanaburi. Very pleasant stay.
One of the best resorts I stayed in Thailand ever. Great staff; spacious room with patio; nice pool; beautiful garden / park on the banks of Kwai River; excellent location; short drive to Kanchanaburi; excellent meals; great place to relax and chill.
We stayed a Tuesday & Wednesday night, and there were only a few guests.
a remnant of old Thailand, lovely, charming and comfortable. right on the river. excellent location - right in the middle of restaurant and bar area yet enough on the side to be fairly quite. it is on the river which means you get as much the feeling of being in the country while still being in a very central location.
Spotlessly clean, staff were excellent and really friendly. The food was great. You pre ordered breakfast, and it was served to you as requested at the time you requested, fresh and hot. Food was good ate they restaurant in the evenings too. Would highly recommend. Probably the best hotel I have stayed in in Thailand
The property is in a great location, right on the river with a great view out from the restaurant. The food and drink in the restaurant is lovely and very reasonably priced. The owner was incredibly helpful and couldn't do enough for us. Would recommend to anyone visiting Kanchanaburi.
The staff were super nice, accommodation was near bus terminal, which we appreciated on day trips out of Kanchanaburi, but little bit far from the centre of the city.
Breakfasts were delicious and various.
Very nice place to stay in Kanchanaburi. The staff is really friendly. The bed was comfortable and we enjoyed the pool! There is a nice coffee place right next to the hotel.
Best hotel I've ever stayed in Thailand. Very beautiful. Very clean. Worth the price. Staff very good and friendly. If I got the chance, will definitely come.
